Louisiana Lottery Vending Machine
That's absolutely maddening! I hate scratchers and resent the he!! out of being forced to buy them because my money is already in the machine that's not working.
There was one at Fred Meyer that always had something wrong with it. Either it wouldn't take the play slip or it wouldn't scan a winning ticket barcode (to apply it to my balance, or to replay the ticket) or I'd get a message that the product is not available which I assume means it's out of paper to print the ticket.
I'd complain

The Winning Lottery Ticket.
WHICH HAS THE BETTER CHANCE OF WINNING: COMPUTER PICKS OR PLAYER PICKS?
About 70% to 80% of purchases are computer picks. About 70% to 80% of winners are computer picks. Perhaps just one of those weird coincidences?
HOW COME THE ONLY JACKPOT WINNERS ARE FROM THE [EAST - WEST - NORTH - SOUTH - CITIES - RURAL AREAS]? HOW COME ONLY [WHITE, BLACK, TALL, SKINNY, YOUNG, OLD] PEOPLE WIN?
Powerball is a random game that knows nothing about who buys a ticket or where a ticket is purchased.

Store owner guilty of stealing lottery ticket, claiming it as his own
Sometimes ppl are first time lottery players or unexperienced players, and some arent sure how to check if they won so they go to the lottery store and ask the store clerk. This isnt the first time a story like this has come up in LP or any other news I have read. It's a common scam. The victim ask the clerk if they have won anything, the clerk will say no the tickets no good pretend to throw it out and pick it up and cash it themselves once the victim has left the store. It's easy for me to find

Went to cash it in and the Validation machine spewed out: Card Reader cannot cash. The clerk was as mystified as I was since I hadnt claimed it before . THe Clerk calls the Vendor help line. THe Lady said- A possiblity is the The pack of tickets hadnt been initialized

Millionaire Mega Bucks is a hit!
I won a ticket on Extreme Green 2 days ago so on my way home I stopped at kind of a seedy looking gas station to cash it in. I traded it in on another Extreme Green and won $25. I figured since I just had a winner I didn't dare buy another one, so I put 5 bucks toward the drawing that night and bought a $20 Millionaire ticket. When I got down to the third row, I hit a JUMBO, but continued to scratch as I like to save the winnings until the end. I ended up with 5 JUMBO's. Going back to the first

Texas Lottery audit finds security flaws
Disaster recovery is a pretty common term in the IT field, and based on the article's emphasis on computer security issues I'm guessing the possible disasters they're thinking about are more along the lines of massive computer problems.A major failure halfway through the sales for an enormous jackpot could cost them millions of dollars and be far more significant than paying out on a bunch of stolen scratchers.
Your comments asking what the fuss is about is an excellent example of why

Store owner accused of stealing lottery ticket
On Monday morning last week, Elizabeth Gelarderes did exactly what she always does, stop in at Richdale Food Store on her way to work for a regular coffee and a lottery ticket. The self-described ''lottery addict scrawled onto a ''Cash Winfall ticket the birth dates of her two children, something she's been doing for at least 10 years. The next day, she brought the ticket in to see if she'd won. The store's owner, Patrick Simboli, 45, allegedly took the ticket, checked it, and told her that she

Maryland voucher?
I'm curious. I had a voucher I checked in the scanner. It said see cashier or whatever it says I can't remember. I went to another store to cash it and it would not let me. Long story short I was at a store waiting at a kiosk. And some idiot was buying racetrack tickets. Soon as I walked up to the machine he says I got money in there. Which he didn't. So I said no you don't. And the machine was still spitting out his 50 cent tickets. So I stepped back and said my bad dude. I didn't know you was

MegaMillions ticket reprint fraud by a store associate?
I am not surprised by this functionality per se - I once had an issue with a ticket at a self-service machine - it probably ran out of paper (or the printer malfunctioned), but - long story short - the store manager was able to reprint the failed ticket. I don't remember exact details, but I am not surprised this functionality exists for this exact reason.
She will be calling the lottery commission today, just wanted to double check we are not missing something here.
And no,

California Scratch Offs
Wow dude that's some rough luck. But you are building up some good karma, will pay off with a nice win soon.
If I had a similar story, it would be this. Last year, our Hit 5 jackpot got up to $1.5 million dollars and that's a $1 ticket with jackpot odds about 700,000 to 1. So it's a good play when the jackpot gets that high. So I decided to buy 20 tickets for $20. Well I don't know who won but the winning ticket ended up being sold at the exact machine I bought mine from. A few days later, I
