Multi-state lottery jackpots near $100 million mark
What do ya know, Powerball rolled too. Looks like I got a couple of big jackpots I'm gonna win! Yeehaw!

Only $5 million increase
If you look at the jackpot history page for Powerball, it's rollovers have been quite a bit bigger than they normally have, just as Mega Millions's rollovers have been bigger. Tonight it rolled over $19M and the last rollover was $17M. I think both games will be having bigger rollovers and bigger jackpots.

5/39 and $100! Ideas??
Also, Gail Howard has a 35-number Balanced Wheeling System #3526 that she claims has won several pick5 jackpots and Steve Player has his 5/39 Geo Matrix System he sells for $747.50 that he's 100% confident of winning any 5/39 game three times a year.

British couple wins $88M lottery, daughter says 'whatever'
I don't agree. Lotto jackpots should be around $21M and no more. That way there are more winners whose lives are changed. People don't need more than $7M after taxes to live on. If you do, you can't manage your finances.

Mega Millions or Powerball will reach Half a Billion.
I agree. I think the jackpots will be won more often. Not that I think that is a bad thing. I just don't think it is likely to reach $500 million

Mega Millions or Powerball will reach Half a Billion.
I have kept records of sales figures for a number of years, and have average sales for various numbers of rollovers in a file, coupled to a Poisson calculation of rollover probability.
It's early in this new number of players, but my figures seem to suggest that the lotteries are now selling about 1.3 times more than what they were before the addition of more states.
For powerball, under the smaller field size, based on averages, based on average sales - there is a pretty big standard devi

Whats the closest you came to winning a big jackpot?
In the 1980's I hit 5 of 6 in the Ohio Lotto for $998. The 6th number was off by a couple digits. I can't remember what the jackpot was then, but nothing like jackpots are now.

Mega Millions or Powerball will reach Half a Billion.
The fact that there are more folks in both lotteries means the buying pool is larger in both games and there's more of a chance for a jackpot to be hit before it gets to big. A topic in the news forum suggested that the jackpots might even be lower.

Cash in MegaMillions ticket in another state?
Actually both PowerBall and MegaMillions are local games except for the jackpots. States contribute ~33% of local sales for the jackpot which all share and all other prizes are paid by the state that sold the ticket.

Your State Now Having Both Powerball And Mega Millions
Probably won't affect my usual wager that much..I would probably spend more money though when both jackpots are high or one is high than the other. Just fair warning LP people ......PLEASE DON'T GET ANGRY WHEN I WIN POWERBALL AND MEGAMILLIONS BACK TO BACK!! LOL
