Ohio has gotten around that problem by selling scratch-off tickets with one of the prizes being a chance to be in a drawing for the top prize after all the tickets are sold. That way the top prize is available during the entire run of the game.RJOh

WINFALL in trouble?Reply
WinFall is just getting back to reality. How long did you really think a lottery could pay ~$50 on a bet with odds of 1:53 and make money? The extra money from the old game is gone and now the new game has to stand on its own. I hope it is succesful, because it will change the concept of the state lottery games from having big jackpots to attract players to having better payouts at the lower prize level to attract players and leave the big jackpots to the multistate games.RJOh

All these opinions are interesting, but it would be more helpful to hear the strategies of those players who have actually won a jackpot or have come close several times. There is nothing wrong with having no strategy and depending on luck, but we all know the odds of being lucky, it printed on the back of the playslip. Players who use systems are trying to lower the odds and it would be interesting to hear from those who think they have been succesful. RJOh

Tickets cannot be cancelled is printed on the multistate lottery cards and many clerks will not punch in any ticket but a QP, any other numbers, the customers have to make out a card. But there have be stories of the winning combinations for the state lottery being played but cancel so I assume some stores allow state lottery tickets to be cancel even though it messes up the book work.RJOh

Well,Today it was somebody else's lucky number and they will recieve the cash. Any number is a lucky number when it is drawn. Sorry you didn't win, but at 1:1000 odds, what can you expect? Good luck to you in the future.RJOh

Sounds like he would have been a bigger loser if he had taken cash and put it all in a bad investment, which proves people who know nothing about investing should take the annuity. At least he'll still have a check coming in the future.RJOh

smd,you could be right. I know that locally people who only play the lottery when it over a 100m will buy tickets if there is a news story about the big jackpot wheater it is MM or PB, so MM sells better when either jackpot is big.RJOh
