The New Mega Millions Game - So Do You Like It Or Not?
What's funny is that sales are lagging pre-matrix change for the same jackpot levels, the increases are only slightly larger than when the annuity payout was 25 years. There's a chance that powerball can reach the $200 million mark before mega

I knew Pedro Quezada was a dinkhead and blow all that money..
What leads you to believe you can't leave instructions in your will regarding the disposition of an annuity? Any unpaid lottery annuities get passed on to your estate, so you should be able to dictate what happens to that money just as easily as any other assets, monetary or not.

I am 38 this year and in 30 years I will be 68. I think about taking the annuity at my age all the time but when the cash is offered to me I think I will take that instead because what happens if I don't get to be 68. Then my family fights over my leftover winnings. AT least if I take cash I can make a will and then tell everyone what they get from me instead of them fighting over the money.-weshar75

If you don't git D-CARE U want??
Lottery care sounds like a great care but it is so elusive. Tonight I got 3 MegaBucks tickets and hope to be the sole winner of $3M annuity. I hope for that lottery care that I selected in the poll.

Florida man wins multimillion lottery jackpot for 2nd time
I didn't understand his choice of the annuity either. But good for him. Maybe I need to start buying tickets like a retiree.

Tickets for updated Mega Millions game on sale Saturday
Hey Roman, I noticed that large increase but I also noticed the small increase in the cash value: from $25.2M to $30.4M. So it jumped $18M in annuity and only $5.2M in cash value. Is that unusual or normal?

Tickets for updated Mega Millions game on sale Saturday
I noticed the cash value of Megamillions is significantly lower than it used to be (from about 68 percent down to 55!), matching similarly with Powerball's cash value, after this night's draw. Is that because Megamillions has switched to a 30 year annuity? Is USAMega going to reflect these changes in due time?

MM going to 30 year annuity
If I am not mistaken in FL we can take some of the winnings cash value and some annuity. That could actually be a smart move for a small amount of the money, just incase you BLOW THE WAD and lose the cash value. A safety net if you will.

Would you be willing to never play the lottery again?
No. Considering I only play when the cash value (not advertised annuity) exceeds $100 million. I have spent on average $30-$50 per year for the past decade so it's a non factor.

MegaMillions Playslips
I generally only purchase megamillions tickets for the lottery pool and for that reason I always use playslips even though all of our plays our QPs except for one set of numbers. I always mark all of the slips Cash Option, but I have noticed on many occasions over the last 4 months, some of the tickets will print out as Cash Option and some as Annuity. Has anyone else experienced or noticed this or am I the only one using playslips to purchase QPs? LOL
