Puerto Rico turns store receipts into lottery tickets
I think you mis-understood the article, the store owners are charging the customers the tax, it's already 7% across the board, the store owners are neglecting to report and hand over the taxes they collect. I live in Michigan we have a 6% sales tax, that is charged to me on all non food items in every store thats here. If I pay cash I stll pay the tax, the store owner doesn't get to pocket the tax I pay. It does not matter what type of cash register they have. If it were up to me the

What Does It Take To Win (Mathematically Speaking?)
RJOh, You said, What discussion? Good question. Since my opening post, all that's been posted here are inane remarks, and that includes yours. The attacks on the 1975 study as out of date don't even confirm that the article was read, since it was merely a reference that was mentioned in the paragraph I included as an excerpt. If you aren't careful, it won't be long before the slowest people here figure out what your real purpose is in these Forums. --Jimmy4164 P.S. No need to bot

Lottery drawing balls
Just the opposite is true. The fact that the states do suspend sales of a number proves it to be a honest game. If it were rigged the state would continue to sell that number and ensure it were not drawn. The reason for suspending the sale of a number is to ensure the financial integrity of the game according the the Ohio website. Here at LP there is an article where Ohio suspended sales on 4114 (Buckeye football score) when it reached a potential payout of $6 million. NY suspended sale

Canada Lotto Max players awaiting huge draw tonight
ok than...the majority of jackpots are won in ontario and quebec. a group of people who won the 50 million work at a bell canada call centre. the prize is on hold as a few more have come out of the woodwork claiming they should get a piece of the pie. so what happened? they were tired of throwing in 5$ so they dropped out? the organizer forgot to ask them for cash? highly unlikely. it all boils down to GREED!! if they never signed a document than they shouldn't get anything. nice wa

Looking at the past NY Mega Millions Winners and I noticed something...
I was searching the net about NY Mega Millions and quick picks and I stumbled upon this great website here. I kind of notice something about the past jackpot and second prize winners. It seems that only certain places win such as Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer, Rocky Point, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island and those places closer to the more urban and city type areas. Now I might be crazy but I think purchasing tickets in this area is a good idea. .....than after finding this article I am hoping

Merry Christmas indeed! Lucky N.Y. lottery player wins $49M
RJOh, Batiatus, HaveABall, Thanks for your interest in this question. It turns out, the answer is at the Link I've been tacking onto my (Summaries) postings every week! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powerball Scroll down to the section entitled Winning Expectation. It's all spelled out there. The table even details examples of various cash and annuity amounts. I was correct that about 1/3 of ticket sales is what the cash option should be, and wrong in assuming it is not, because IT IS! I

Christmastime battle over lottery jackpot
Congratulations Ms. French, I hope you receive your 1/8 share of your lottery pool's jackpot win and soon get some BIG happinesses in your life. Lottery jackpot wins are supposed to be enthralling, lingering experiences! Although, my thoughts these past few years have come to the conclusion that participating in a lottery pool is unwise, too many wild card individual personalities and conceiving potential! Well, apparently Ms. French's lawyer, Culmo, has publicly (via WFTV) and privately info
