The First Time You Play the Lottery Games
I don't remember what year I first started playing lotteries but it was the Irish sweepstakes, (based on Irish horse races), which were illegal here but we played them anyway. There was also a Spanish lottery called the fat one (El Gordo) because the prizes were so big. Some of the Powerball and MegaMillion Jackpots now make it look puny. When New York got its first lottery the Irish sweepstakes died and the rest is history, I've been playing ever since.

When you buy a lottery ticket do you prayer that you win the Jackpot?
I totally agree with you, the jackpots need to be smaller to generate more winners--it will increase more revenue if there were more bigger winners for a jackpot of an lesser amount.

When you buy a lottery ticket do you prayer that you win the Jackpot?
I totally agree with your last line. Jackpots should be smaller with more people winning. One person does not need 200 million dollars. Why not let 400 people win a half a million dollars or even 200 people win a million dollars. That isn't rich, by far, in today's economy after taxes but would be a nice nest egg for most. But the lure of those triple digit millions is what gets people to buy more tickets.

Arkansas lottery to sell Mega Millions tickets
The Arkansas Lottery Commission agreed Tuesday to sell Mega Millions tickets next year, making multi-state jackpots available to lottery participants four nights a week instead of two. The panel unanimously voted to begin selling tickets for Mega Millions by Jan. 31. The state already sells tickets for the multistate Powerball game. Arkansas Lottery Director Ernie Passailaigue said he didn't know how much additional money the state would get from the Mega Millions game. Arkansas has sold $

Multi-state lottery shockwave sweeping America
As lawmakers in Mega Millions states watched players line up in neighboring states to buy tickets for huge Powerball jackpots... I KNEW it! They ARE watching me! That must have been that guy in the fedora and trench coat behind me in line at the Gulf station! The more people playing means the jackpot is won more often so of course they have to add even more balls, to the point they won't fit on the betslip! Already some betslips are dog-legged between the fields to make room for extra nu

Which is your game of choice?
I prefer MegaMillions because it's local and only has two drawings per week. For entertainment I like tracking past drawing results and detecting trends that might indicate numbers in future drawings and with a couple of days between drawings I have time to do that. Buying QPs and hoping to get lucky isn't as entertaining. Sometimes when their jackpots are high, I'll try Rolling Cash5 or Classic Lotto but usually playing MM is plenty of entertainment for me.

America's multi-state lottery titans agree to ticket-selling partnership
When this happens you won't have a chance to stick to Super Lotto Plus - it is agonizing from the day MM launched in California and I'm pretty sure in the future it will be replaced with PowerBall - played the same days with larger jackpots. The odds in ANY jackpot lottery including scratchers are astronomical so they don't really matter. The lotteries exist for profiting the states and feds, not the players, and whichever makes more money will be there.

Pb & MM in same state...what will happen?
Maybe this is the beginning stages of what will become a National lottery. Why carry two games when you can have one game with consistantly huge jackpots? *S*
