Man claims he's owed Mega Millions in suit against Illinois Lottery
Not to call the guy a scam artist, but I'm not sure I believe him.
Nothing against anybody about to read this part:
I think this man might just be a slick lawyer. The article states he's representing himself in the trial, so there's little to no overhead cost to attempt to sue the Lottery.
If he loses (likely) - He'll say some strong words and skip of to do whatever it is he does without it costing more then just a little time.
If he wins (not likely) - He'll collect an unspecif

Pennsylvania Pick 3 - 4 Serious Players
Here is an intersting article posted yesterday on the Pennsylvania lottery website mentioning 7-11; and now today's number on daytime is 711:
Bridesburg Man Scratches $500,000 Win
Michael Pharo thought he won $500 on the Pennsylvania Lottery s Glittering Diamonds scratch-off game. Imagine his surprise when he found out he actually won $500,000. He couldn t believe his luck.
The decision to play Glittering Diamonds was purely coincidental after much discussion earlier about naming h

Numbers in the news...
From a USA Today article on the new baseball stadiums in NY:
Ticket prices draw fire
The ticket pricing structure for the stadiumsalso is generating controversy, as many fans think they're being pricedout of seeing games. Yankees tickets will range from $5 forobstructed-view bleacher seats to $2,625; the Mets' prices will be from$11 to $695 (for opening day and the Yankees series).
There's been more outrage since people haveseen the ticket prices, deMause says. People are saying, 'Wait

21 Combinations
All you have done so far is speculate without proof, provided nothing but conjecture, and posted some contorted article which you may have even doctored up to suit your dubious claim of conspiracy ... it's all very weak.
As far trying to deflect attention away from that by implying that I am defending GTECH that won't fly either, I'm simply looking at the historical records which in no way support your disjointed ramblings.
IF (and that's a very BIG if) you could have proven any claim of

Woman claims Publix cashier threw away winning lotto ticket
Something doesn't jive here.
She bought them earlier in the week and didn't even pay attention to what the numbers were.
Then it says
Annie's son called to share the good news. My son had called me and told me, 'Mom, you know that 3131 came', and I said, 'Uh uh, you joking'. He said, 'Yes it did, I'm looking at the print out right now,' Annie said.
Did she call her son or did he call her? If she didn't know what numbers she played, how would her son know she won? Maybe it's just t

Conn. man's last lotto ticket wins $10M for widow
I don't need to take oyur word. We all know that death and taxes are the only things that are certain (though I'm willing to consider that technology could change the death part).
The value of the ticket is $1.
That's only true before the drawing. After the drawing it's worth nothing or it's worth the value of any prize it won. If you give a ticket to somebody it's a gift. That's what a gift is, after all. The question is how much the gift is worth, and in the case of a winning lottery t

Ex-con held onto his lotto millions and started new life
Huh? I don't think this is such a heart-warming story.
I never said it was a heart-warming story, but I do think it's a good story. Sometimes people with sketchy pasts win the lottery. It happens. If they become good, productive citizens, so what?
There is nothing here that tells me this man turned his life around, except that he doesn't have to work any more because he won a lot ofmoney. He didn't give up crime because he had an epiphany.
More than the millions, the birth of his first

Huh? I don't think this is such a heart-warming story. There is nothing here that tells me this man turned his life around, except that he doesn't have to work any more because he won a lot of money. He didn't give up crime because he had an epiphany. He got caught and went to prison. In the article there is not one word that shows remorse for his past criminal activity. I'd rather read about someone who spent his life helping people or working in a coal mine or an immigrant farm worker who pick

Nightmare Lottery Scenario
Jimhowlett,
Good story idea, but pinkpansies is right. In fact, if I remember right, there was a case in California where a store clerk had kept a winning ticket from a player (telling them it was a loser), but the clerk didn't have the right answers to the questions the lottery commission asked.
How about we do this with your story idea;
The bar that the guy with the lottery winning ticket has is in Roswell, New Mexico. One of the people in the bar is an alien, knockes the guy out, tak

Interesting youtube video
Very standard advice that you would find in every single book or article ever written on the subject of picking lotto numbers.
The minute and a half video boils down to just 2 tips:
Avoid too many birthday numbers Pick at least one adjacent number
It's always good to get reminders of this stuff though, and it's nice to see a video like that without blatant advertising. (I admit you got me nervous when I started seeing the glitzy production.)
A few more tips not included in the vid
