Free play question...
You might as well consider it minus $10 because the lottery does. The lottery got your $10 and they know by giving you some free plays (which cost them nothing) rather than $3, they won't ever has to give any of it back to you. I'm sure if the lottery had its rathers, it would rather pay off the jackpots with free plays too.

DiamondPalace's Texas Cash 5 Challenege
Yeah, I agree with you the payout for 4 of 5 is not that great especially when someone hits 5 of 5 for that drawing. I also HATE the fact that they don't roll the jackpots for cash 5......they used too years ago, but now they just pocket it..................

Cash option and taxes
What IS stupid is to post the few Lottery websites that DO NOT post the annuity AND the cash value amounts just so you can attempt to prove your point. The overwhelming amount of lottery websites that advertise PB MM jackpots DO POST BOTH OPTIONS.Go find someone else to argue your stupidity with.

How many of you feel discouraged when more states join PB or MM?
I don't like it when it gets harder to win, that's why I wait until the Powerball hits $100 million before buying tickets for myself. If the odds get raised, I may raise that floor as well. On the other hand, the jackpots climb faster and higher, which is OK.

Powerball and Mega Millions in every state
I for one will no longer buy the New York Lottery which takes forever to get to three or four million. I personally think the jackpots will continue to grow at the same rates as they do now. BTW didn't Powerball just change their odds or if they didn't already aren't they going to???

Colorado Lottery reviewing partnership with Mega Millions
I still say this would be a bad idea, not only would the odds get even worse than the are now but with two games competing with each other in this way it'll do more IMO to hurt sales of both as well as hurt the jackpots since many people will only focus on which ever one is higher anyway. Also with the odds being raised not only through the roof, not only through the stratosphere but completely out of our orbit a lot of people will just quit. Of course some might go back to the state games....

N.Y. looks to join Powerball lottery
Hmmm.....I going to put on my psychic cap.....I predict the winning powerball jackpot tickets.....will follow the trend of the NY lotto jackpots and Mega millions jackpot winners .....the winning tickets will be bought in NYC.....and/or on Long Island, NY.....

Reflecting bad times, some lotteries hit losing streak
jim695 I didn't mean to doubt you, it's just that it seems so absurd to do it so many times. They probably lie to us that the particular drawing they show is live; this makes me soo upset. Nowonder it rarely happens that jackpots are won back to back. When shall the man start playing fair?

Pretend one or both of the sitiuations is happening to you
It is only possible to make systems that guarantee multiple lower tier prizes.
It is not considered useful to make a system that guarantees multiple jackpots because all 5 or 6 number combinations would have to be repeated as many times as you wanted the jackpot won and of course they would simply become shares in the single jackpot amount. Doesn't help if you are the only winner, provides a larger share if there are multiple winners besides you.
Useful multiple jackpots can come up

Why is the Tennessee lottery blaming on the POWERBALL?
and all the Powerball and Mega Millions states should have known the bigger jackpots would affect their state lotto games. The only problem Tennessee could be having is the Powerball game is paying off at a higher percentage than it's games and of course cuts into their overall profits.
