Notice that CA is not up there; Its been that long. It's CA time for sure. Due to the economy my husband has stopped playing lotto altogether (he was the MM player in the family) and I spend most of my money on CA SuperLotto Plus. But ever so often I will drop $1 on a MM QP. I don't actually hold my breath for MEGA since I have yet to get even one number, but I play the dollars when I visits the cities that win jackpots in CA.

Same here. I can understand those who like big jackpots, but for me it doesn't matter. I want to win whether it is 15 million or 200 million.

Finally someone who seese it my way!!!! I have nothing wrong with winning 20 million dollars, but my point is that if I want a 20 million dollar jackpot, I can play my local NY lotto and get two plays for a dollar as opposed to 1. I think that the MEGA millions should have MEGA jackpots, and I don't think it should be won every few weeks, I think it's more exciting when you have these large pots.

Only approx. 20 million more combos than Mega million....not that it matters. 1 in 146 million combos isn't any easier to pik right than 1 in 195 million combos....It might get to a hundred million more often,, then all the seldom players will start playing as it goes up. I'll bet that there will be more PB jackpots hit next year than this year.....

As Lantern said, it's easy to find out (at least roughly) how many tickets are sold, but even the lotteries don't know how many people play or how many tickets they buy. The number of players definitely goes up when jackpots get bigger, but many of the same players buy more tickets. If you ask a more specific question you might get a more useful answer.

I can't speak about other states, but I do believe that Texas is one of the most open states when it comes to the lottery. someone mentioned the fact that this lotto plus game has went all this time and hasn't been won one time.i think it went years in indiana that way but of course when you have computer draws the odds get thrown out of wack as far as the jackpot being hit.with games like lotto it would get hit more often when the balls are being dropped because the computer draws are just manipulated to bring in higher jackpots so more people will spend more money which goes into the state coffers.
