Maine couple claims $8.2M Tri-State Megabucks jackpot
Ohio does that with their Classic Lotto game. I guess they don't want to be changing the formula every time the annuity rate change so they state on their website cash value is 50%.

NJ bill aims to protect lottery winners' identity
but what about the lottery in states that need to publicize winners names and situations to sell more tickets. if everyone pumped the money into a boring annuity anonymously people would lose interest in playing over time. if you're so worried about the leeches trying to separate you from your winnings don't play. but if you play and win prepare yourself for an onslaught because you invited it. NJ bill aims to protect lottery winners' identity
Anyone can put $10 million in an annuity and have $400-$500 thousand coming in every year for the rest of their life. And it would likely take all of about 2 hours to set up.

UK couple wins massive EuroMillions lottery jackpot
No, UK lottery players don't have to pay any taxes on their winnings. Also the advertized jackpot is the lump sum with EuroMillions not like in the US where the advertized jackpot for most lotteries are almost always the annuity option.

DO you really lose money if u take the annunity over the lump sum?
i would guess the real diff is there is little chance you will lose your money with an anuity. but if you manage your money privatly there is. the possibility to make over double the amount from interest on a cash payment is very real, and thats why most would go for it. either way i would be a happy man,. and there are countless records of people going bankrupt even when winning the annuity and collecting that. because they cannot say no. and have no financial self control. annui

$337 million Powerball jackpot ticket sold at gas station in small Michigan city
Glad I'm not the only one who found it odd. The Annuity should have been $367 million for the 66.7% ratio to work out.

DO you really lose money if u take the annunity over the lump sum?
its an interesting thought there ky floyd. bond markets are liquid. and they trade to match the yield that current issues provide. ie 1 $100 bond that still attracts a 10% rate will sell for $108 makeing the yield 2%. is the lotto winners annuity tied even tighter than just bonds? or invested in ann illiquid market where there is no buyer?
