I should have mentioned, I voted roll over because I'm not playing Wednesday, since neither today, tomorrow, Tuesday, or Wednesday is a date ending in 0 . Interestingly, according to the Texas Lottery Report website, Powerball sales were $38.3 million (19.65 million tickets) for last night's draw, so if it rolls Wednesday, the pot might actually make it OVER $80 million if they sell as many tickets for Wednesday's draw as they did for Saturday's. Mathematically there is no way that there will be one jackpot winner.... with ticket sales in the millions in one 24 hour stretch alone the possibility of just having one or even two winners is slim to none. Well, in a way, you make a sound point. But if this has happened once, you can bet that it will happen again, even if it's rarely. If you ever wanted to win a jackpot at this size, maybe it would be best to do so when 400-600 million is on the tier of excitement from 300 million. Definitely! Take care of yourself and your family first and try not to take this game too seriously even with an unprecedented record jackpot. You do have to participate in order to have ANY chance and the odds are indeed overwhelming. With the jackpot this high, I wouldn't surprise to see some spend the bulk of their paycheck ($1,000 or more) this Friday. Too bad half a billion is actually only about $375 million or less after taxes. Funny how we say only for that amount. The roll is not that big of a deal, it is all marketing.
