$363 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot raised due to heavy sales
Also what people forget is we are not talking about a regular annuity here of a few hundred thousand a year, which I could still live very comfortably off of I might add; but several million a year which is more than most smaller cash jackpot games.

$363 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot raised due to heavy sales
I studied finance and worked in a bank for many years so I would be fine. But with this amount I would just take the annuity and have a lot of fun. Guaranteed check in the millions every year for 30 years. Not much to keep track of, and PLENTY enough for me.

$363 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot raised due to heavy sales
Think I'd have to go with the Annuity on this one... $1.2 Million Per Month for the next 25 years sounds good enough for me to do just that!

$356 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot nears record
It's tacked on either one. It doesn't matter if you choose the annuity or lump sum cash as the Feds will still tax you at the highest tax rate.

$356 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot nears record
Just look at it as a whole. It's 35% total. So whether you choose the 255 million CV or the 356 annuity, you will be taxed 35%.

You can always invest annuity! And make even more than you would otherwise! I dont think Id spend near what Id make each year! Heck after 1st year i wouldnt spend near the amount given!

$356 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot nears record
There is not a single good reason to take the annuity in these times. Take the cash, invest with the help of investers, stash some away in a safe.

Almost-millionaire on a 15-year political pilgrimage
fair idea to lose your annuity for as long as you don't claim your prize. this guy who won't get elected dog catcher is trying to get onto the political gravy train to recover some of his prize. who's kidding who? becoming a political hack is the easiest way to get cash.

Mega Millions $241mil Cash or Annuity
At my age I probably wouldn't be around to collect all 26 annuity payments but I would be happy collecting $7M+ annually the rest of my life and let the relatives fight over what's left when I'm gone. I wouldn't want to waste my time listening to a bunch of sleek and expensive investment consultants.
