Minnesota Gov. vetoes bill to limit online lottery sales
I love how they are using being too accessible as an excuse. The day they allowed lottery tickets to be sold at gas station is the day they needed to retire too accessible as an excuse. I get shopkeepers not liking this, but I'm trying to figure out what the real issue is from the politicians. They were okay with regular online lottery sales but have a problem with scratch offs online? Seems like much ado about nothing.

would you be happy after winning the jackpot and
I wouldn't retire from working, just from my current job. I wouldn't be crazy and go out and risk my money on some high risk business. If I had $10 million and was able to make 6% in an average bond fund, that's $600,000 a year in interest. That would be more then enough to live off very very comforably.

Oregon Lottery winner won't retire
I would absolutely keep working! 1,000.00 a week in Boston is nothing. It would help out alot but it's no where near enough to retire in Massachusetts. Now, the lucky for life(1,000.00 a day for life, with 20 year minimum) is a different story.

Oregon Lottery winner won't retire
It's funny how the public in general believe winning a lottery is sufficient to retire. A major source of this perception has to do with the media and this story is a prime example. The initial headline doesn't disclose anything about how much the winner won...just that he or she won and won't retire.
I find it as bad as referring to Richard Lustig as winning seven lottery jackpots or that anyone who wins a one million dollar annuity or prize is an instant millionaire . They conveniently leave

$284 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot rolls again
Amen Thrifty. I love these people who think the elderly have no value or are too old to win the lottery after they retire. I bet they worked during their lives and they deserve it as much as anyone else. I am glad I was raised to respect the elderly and did volunteer work at retirement homes, etc. The green eyed monster is alive and well.

How do you determine if a system is worth buying?
I hear you Psyko. They want tenure so that they can stop working. What I am saying though is if there was a way to exploit the lottery, they would have figured it out and took advantage of it and retire.

" Should" you Win the lottery- would you borrow money out to friends if asked?
It would depend on how much I won, I would help family, I got everything I need, all I want is enough to retire so I can spend more time, cooking, gardening, travel.

What's the highest amount you'd feel comfortable handling on your own??
Anything over $5 million (after taxes) I'd hire an advisor. I'm not quitting my job for that amount. But it's enough to have a decent house, a couple of nice cars, be completely debt free and not lose sleep worrying about not having enough to retire on when the time comes. It's a non-lavish lifestyle amount I can manage on my own.

Announcing Winners to the public?
It is a problem I'd love to have in the very near future...I'm gonna go out on a limb here and just say I dont care if the release my name or what as long as I win enough to where I can just retire and do as I please. LOL as that one song goes Say my name say my name

$257 MILLION: Mega Millions jackpot expands
Amen. If you play PB and/or MM, always do the mutiplier for the extra dollar. It might be the difference between just being comfortable versus being able to retire ASAP and do what you want to do 24/7.
