Powerball Lottery Jackpot Grows to New Record of $340 Million
The only reason is $$$ to the lottery. With tickets sold so far there is $13million in the Pick 5 pool. It would have gone into the cash option under the old rules. The lottery is betting more people will spend the extra dollar on the power play. Sales have been down this year so they are going to cash in while they can.

would you take cash or payments on the PB
Since being in a group lottery pool at my humble place of employ, its clear that we'll take the CASH. Some folks are already hitting retirement age and dont want to be tied to the meager 30 year payout. With the PB- *IF* our group ever hit the jackpot, its clear we'll barely have enough to call a nest egg. The feds alone with get more then each one of us gets individually when all is said and done. There wont be any need to go into hiding....most of us already are lost souls trying to make ends me

Powerball Lottery Jackpot Grows to New Record of $340 Million
Chewie,That's the way it's always worked. Why the sour attitude about it? Have some fun! That rule about the Bonus Prize Pool has been in effect for years now, but it's never even been tested before. Why not give it a chance to see how it goes before ripping it a new one? However, as always, I enjoy your commentary.

will powerball set a new record........
I knew it that no one would hit PB on Saturday 10/15. It rolled to 340 million because of the cap rule set by PB for Wednesday 10/19. 13 million are now in the Match 5 bonus pool for Wednesday 10/19. I hope PB rolls on Saturday 10/22 to shatter the North American jackpot record currently held by Mega Millions [formerly The Big Game] of 363 million.

MD's " Powerball Challenge" 10/15
Everyone, jackpot has rolled over to 340 million with the bonus prize pool of 13 million in play! MADDOG10, I'm sorry I wasn't able to get my picks to you in time so I let other people win for a change. If I had did, I would have won this round based upon my fantasy picks of 3+1 [1, 8, 45, and the PB of 15]. MADDOG10, I'll remind myself to send you my fantasy PB picks for Wednesday's draw because I might not be able to get it in on time.

weshar, I'm happy to see PB finally get a bonus prize pool in the game. Do you agree or disagree that PB will roll in the next draw next Saturday?

Powerball at $340,000,000!!
Just doing a little math,It will take about $12,000,000 to fund the $25 million increase.Wednesday you can expect them to sell at least $90 million in tickets which means about $27 million should have gone to the prize pool.So that means if it is won on Wednesday each other the 2nd tier prizes will share an extra $15,000,000.Brad

trips
It was Georgia with 1115 Midday Cash 4 today, 10-12.Georgia Cash 3 and Cash 4 draw from the same pool of ballsets so what is expected one place may end up in another. I look at both games when posting predictions.

Mega Millions lottery jackpot increases to $77 million
Did you check out the Drawing Info page at USA Mega? California 4+1 winners once again got much more than the other MM states -- $23,434 each! Also, the California 5+0 pool continues to rise. I really like those pari-mutuel payouts in California. It can be a bad thing, but more often it's been a good thing.

Scientific Games Awarded Two Contracts With German Lottery
Partnering with Scientific Games Honsel gives us access to the industry's most sophisticated lottery management tools and a deep pool of lottery experience, especially in the European market, said Rolf Stypmann, Managing Director of Toto-Lotto Niedersachsen GmbH. The potential sales growth here in Hanover could be enormous. Obviously, only the big boys are allowed to play in that arena. Guess that is the world of the future. Premier companies in each industry, the rest fold. Sci-Fi is slowly
