There needs to be a harder MUSL game.
Is this a sarcastic post? I think I'll be playing Powerball much less now that they doubled the price. I used to play when the annuity got around 60-70 million, but now I'll probably wait until it's well over the 100 million mark.

$228.9M Powerball lottery ticket sold in Minnesota
Congrats to the winners. I hope they're on an extended vacation while they decide cash or annuity. Moochers do not care the winners don't have money in hand yet. Not a smart start for these winners, IMHO.

I have a question about when a group of co-worker hit a jacpot game
When a GROUP of players win a jackpot, after taxes, the amount is usually 'low enough' that an annuity does not make a lot of sense (to them), but it depends on the size of the group, any more than about 3-4 people and it's not 'worth it'.

Question about the "Cash" or "Annuity" Option
Point being if I buy myself an annuity: I'd be less likely to blow it ALL, make lousy investments, have the market crash (again), get scammed by someone, and I would still have an annual (or monthly) income check on top of my 'blow it' money. A golden parachute if you will.

$218 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot increased
good luck to everyone for tonights drawing .. i plan on having a meet and greet for those daring enough to wear their lotterypost bikini's {in the tri-state area} [w/todd hosting] should i win
but a side of caution to those that just LOVE LOVE LOVE ANNUITY payments .. i spoke with someone in the finances and while this option was good for those playing lotteries in the early 80s .. not so the case now .. the states and the gov will be your bed-mates for life [you don't want that, they both ha

Current Mega Millions Life Changing Jackpot
Everyone knows someone will eventually win but there are more than a million players with a dollar and a dream for every drawing and if all of their dreams come true they could win a 25 years annuity worth $172.00 or less.

Can you divide a large winning this way?
I believe it's one or the other as well.....like time*treat said once you have the cash you can invest it as you wish including annuity..... seek advice first to make sure this is your best option...

Can you divide a large winning this way?
My guess would be that you'd have to do one or the other. Of course, after taking the cash, you could put as much as you wanted of it into an annuity.

Annuity Option
that is so lame they don't let people pick which option they want after they win. Most states give winners two months after claiming the prize to decide. I can just imagine waiting in a long line at the 7-11 while someone is trying to decide if they want the annuity or cash for a lotto they have a one in 176 million chance of winning. Come on Texas lotto get with the program.
