I always said Id take the annuity, but when its this large I'll take the cash option. If I win, I'd be taking 74.9 Million after taxes. I wouldn't know what to do with all thats. Its crazy to think that I could win it all on christmas eve.

I ain't gon' sit here and call you stupid and such like a lot of people would, because you're not as far as I can tell. However, do you really think that that last installment will be worth, in real terms, anywhere close to what the first one will be? Goggle quantitative easing, and read up on it. Please learn, before you win, that collection amount has nothing to do with age; that is why 99% of the multi-million dollar lottery jackpot winner's financial advisors STRONGLY suggest that they collect the lump sum/cash value instead ... then invest that in 5-7 different investment ways and easily bring those sum totals up to the annuity amount within 13 - 19 years. Never spend the principal is the rule for the winner's entire life.

Classic Lotto continues to grow and now that it's Monday and MM and PB aren't played today, it make a good alternative to start off the week. It's jackpot is only $14.9M but so are its odds. Its annuity amount of $300K a years isn't bad either.

In Illinois we don't have those options but should you win you decide annuity or cash then, but I was going to suggest the same thing, even if it's just to ask for a QP and the option, fill out the slip.

In Texas, a player must choose cash option at the time of purchase when buying Powerball, Mega Millions, or Texas Lotto. If the player does not choose cash option, then it defaults to annuity.

yep, in FL winners fork over 25% . Unless its annuity over 20 yrs and winner decides to take cash option. So she took the cash option of $15 mill and then she will pay 25% off that in taxes. She will end up with around $11,250,000.00

There aren't any taxes on lottery winnings if I remember correctly but I don't know that's a 1M lump sum or annuity. Though either way I wouldn't call her a millionaire.
