Colorado chalks up its first Powerball winner
I know what's the deal?! It's almost the same thing for the Mega Millions, it keeps hitting, which to me is just strange given the odds. If this keeps happening, a ball or two should be added to help make the game a bit exciting again. If I want a 20 million dollar jackpot, I could play my local lotto. I want 100 million dollar jackpots when I play the megamillions or powerball.

How was the lottery like back in the day?
There was things called newspapers and telephones. The newspapers had sections with the results I think they still do, USA Today has an all states section. You could also call in a get results which I think you still can. As far as winners as stories go you only heard of the state of the winner of large jackpots but that was about it, something to be said about the good old days, it was more local.

Tenn. Lottery CEO claims recent errors didn't hurt sales
That's probably correct. Good point. People who play, for the most part, I think are not really players since quick picks are the majority of the sales. These same people would likely be buying tickets based upon the size of the jackpot that they could win, rather than the odds against them of winning it. So Pick 3 and Pick four, while having the best odds, would not be as interesting, since the jackpots are so comparatively small.

Euromillions....
I really don't have an answer regarding where to buy, but I did notice on the jackpots page that the Euromillions went up 144 million in one week. How the heck did that happen ?

What are the ODDS! 2 Jackpot Wins 2 Miles Apart!
A week ago, two second tier Mega Millions jackpots were sold at the same grocery store in Toledo OH (there were only 3 $250,000 tickets drawn for that drawing and both were for the same store--love to read the story behind THAT one)

Retired auto worker, 2 children claim $314M Powerball lottery jackpot
314M - isn't that the exact (annuity value) amount JW won? Someday all of you will be over 65 so you'll enter into the high winning bracket yourself, and by then maybe the jackpots will be over a billion!

In the ongoing quick picks discussions...
Maybe there were a lot more self picks played than usual. It's an even safer bet that there were more QP's than usual. We know that when the jackpots get really big a lot of people who don't normally play decide to grab a ticket or five, and the occasional players are probably more likely to play QP's. If anything, I'd guess that as the jackpot goes up the percentage of QP's goes up, making it even more likely that a QP will win.

Lotto
Well everyone, if people voted for MM and CA SLP jackpots both hit, you're right. I voted wrong on this one! For the first time since MM joined in CA, there is a CA SLP and MM jackpot winners on consecutive days. How does this feel when a MM jackpot winner hit on Friday and CA SLP jackpot was hit on Saturday?

$300,000,000 Jackpot Draws
Well I think 2 $300,000,000+ jackpots from a single game each year is certainly more than enough. Hell, I wouldn't mind if we saw each game get a $300,000,000+ jackpot once a year. However, I do think we will see another $300,000,000+ jackpot from PowerBall before the year ends, possibly a record jackpot. In fact, PowerBall is already on a roll. It's up to $29M. We just might see 2 consecutive $300,000,000+ jackpot rolls.

4 tickets win $330 million lottery jackpot
Eh well, better luck for me next time. Four winners and 36 2nd prize winners, is that a record or something? How much do you think they will end up with each? In any case, it was fun while it lasted. Hopefully the jackpots will be bigger more often than they've been in the last two years, it's definately more exciting once it crosses the 200 million dollar mark.
