Mega Millions Won :-(
I am sure at least 2 of those tickets were picked numbers. I don't see 4 tickets being sold if they were all easy picks. There was only 137,000,000 tickets sold which I thought was kinda low. But there will be no $500+ million jackpots if they keep the matrix this way. We just buy too many tickets.

$330 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot raised
It is nice when the MM and the PB have high jackpots during the same draw period. I like to see them run neck-to-neck.

$325 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery nears record high
Does anyone know if there is a cap on MM jackpots? I had heard that either Powerball or MM had a cap in which other prizes would substantially grow in value should the cap limit be reached.

To sign or not to sign...
i am way too paranoid about losing my ticket not to sign it right away. when i hear about unclaimed jackpots i think the person threw it away by accident or lost the ticket but i try to sign my tickets when i get home or at the store.

Powerball & Megamillions Growing
Hey, PowerBall is known to get a several $100M+ jackpots in a roll every now and then. For all we know, this could be another run to $300M+. There is no doubt in my mind that had nobody won Saturday, Wednesday's jackpot would be at $390M. A $400M+ jackpot was a lot closer than what some people think. Either way, I look forward to another $300M+ jackpot within the next 3 months.

Single winner in $314M Powerball lottery drawing
And also for ones who only play high jackpots and matched just the powerball with a 3X in the last drawing. This will encourage those to reinvest their $9 winnings into another $10 ticket. Or to induce those who matched 3 without the powerplay also to reinvest their $7 into another ticket.

Cash Options of Jackpots
I agree, but is that because the payout is longer with PB so a smaller annuity would yield more money over 30 years than 26 years? Obviously it's done on purpose, but I think all jackpots (state or multi-state) should be paid out over 20 years or 25 at the most. I might be wrong, but I think more people would take annual payments if they offered a shorter term. Although I might consider annual payments if I won a jackpot, I would never want a graduated annuity at my age and 30 years is a long

Powerball lottery jackpot crosses $300 million boundary
well less people play when it is smaller so people who only want the $200-$300million jackpots may wait until its higher to play. the people who play when it is $25million probably play more powerplays because they would be happy with the second or third tier prize multiplied by the powerplay

Powerball Advertising
Except for the jackpots, both MegaMillions and PowerBall are local lotteries. All involved states contribute 32-33% of their sales dollars to the jackpot to share it and all other prizes are paid by the states selling the winning tickets. All tickets and prizes are subjected to the rules of the state selling the tickets, that the reason different states have different rules for claiming a prize.
