Steve LaTreal McNair (February 14, 1973 - July 4, 2009) was an American football quarterback in the National Football League. He was originally drafted by the Houston Oilers third overall in the 1995 NFL Draft. He played college football at Alcorn State. McNair was selected to the Pro Bowl three times and was the Co-AP NFL MVP in 2003. After 13 seasons in the NFL, McNair announced his retirement in April 2008. He was 36 years old.

Except he has already accepted a plea bargain now, and that will likely include, at the least an 18 month prison sentence. He knew he wasn't going to get acquitted. So he won't be available to play in 2008. Once he gets out, I personally seriously doubt that the NFL Commissioner is going to just allow him back that easily.
