Man, I could write a book on this one. So I'll keep it brief... How do you expect the prize pool to grow faster when you're adding 20% more players ??? (Not really- see next item.) UK players will reject this based on the ticket cost and taxable (US portion) jackpots. This is just a test market to see if Powerball can sell a $5+ ticket ( 4= $5.44 US). Why in your own back yard when you can do it in someone else's? MegaMillions is paying the price of greed and Powerball is next.

I think I beg to differ on why MM is falling behind. I wouldn't call it bad luck some fellow just happened to match all the numbers and they got super lucky and win the jackpot. The intention of these games is for someone to win. I don't think it's upon them to decided as to when someone can win. Actually having two games and letting the players pick may be worse right now. As happens so often, I think this is another case of players somehow failing to understand that the point of a lottery is to raise revenue for the entity that runs the lottery.
