Very good points. Didn't 'they' say the jackpots would grow faster? They don't. Also you mentioned they should reduce the tax rate, that's on the IRS not the lottery. I agree. Being kind or helpful is buying food or gas, etc for a person in need. If the ticket is a bonus fun thing in addition to food, then I can understand. When I stop at a grocery store lottery machine, I have had men offer me a ticket. I always say no thanks. But other women will take the ticket. It creeps me out. If there is a jp winner in that store, the gift giver could claim he lost his ticket or I promised to split it with him.

Until you run into computer glitches. A couple of years ago at a store I gave the clerk the slip. He ran it but the draw said a week from the current Saturday. I saw this on th ticket and told him to run it again because it was close to the draw time. He did and the same slip printed the correct date the current Saturday. You should get a refund of $50 for tickets never received. This reprint functionality between kiosk and cashier lottery machine opens up the possibility of a clerk being able to see the numbers chosen by any customer. BTW, the last lottery ticket that I bought via kiosk did not show at the output tray. The store manager came over, and after explaining my story, he reached up into the output tray and pull out a ticket hidden from standing view.

I went to a retailer today to purchase pick 3 pick 4 evening tickets. Gave her my slips new kid ran them jammed the machine. She comes fixes it canceled ran tickets and then ran them again. After 2 slips ran I gave her a final number to key in BOOM DONE. Made the cut off later that evening I went to check my numbers and the clerk ran my slips for tomorrow evening BUT the last one keyed in played for today the right night.
