Hey Cape. Congrats on the $50 ticket wins. I've been very disappointed with the lack of creativity in the $50 ticket game design. I suspect the lotto may have decreased the $1M wins to increase the odds at the $500 prize.

Isn't it about 99 44/100th% sure when they take that picture of you with the big check when you first go in to claim it that you won. There may be some child support taken out or something or back taxes. I get you don't actually get the money that day but most have a bank account and if you asked nicely for an extended line of credit or a major overdraft increase I would think they would oblige or risking losing you as a customer.

Pre-pandemic the starting pot was at 40 million, a decrease took place lowering the starting pot amount to 20 million due to low sales and the cost was $2 with the option to multiply for a $1 more. It wasn't suppose to remain at 20 million. Now the pot will start at 50 million with a cost of $5, that's a drastic increase I think.

I'm curious what type of people will still play after the price increase. Deep pocketed players who buy thousands of dollars' worth of tickets, huge lottery pools buying hundreds or thousands of dollars' worth of tickets, and gambling addicts probably won't change their habits much. What does everyone think about the Mega Millions ticket price increase???? I personally feel it's a good thing, although I'm not sure everyone can afford or allot $5 per ticket. But your odds are ALOT greater, you get FREE multipliers, and you're guaranteed to NEVER win less than the ticket cost.

That price increase lets me out of playing. While I like Mega Millions and it's huge jackpots, the price per line will stop me from playing. That price point is too much. Would rather spend $5 on 5 chances at the Texas Lotto. A win would still make me a millionaire, and have more chances to win for the same investment.
