MegaMillions jackpot in local news
For the first time in a long time a MegaMillions jackpot under $200M was in the local news. Channel 10 news report tickets for Friday's MM $177M jackpot were selling briskly at the local stores. I've always thought the game would sell more tickets if more than just the regular lottery players knew when the jackpot was $100M or more. Before MegaMillions came to Ohio, when ever the PowerBall or BigGame jackpots went to $100M, this station would send a news team to Indiana or Michigan to do

Breaking Las Vegas: Could it happen to the lotto..
I remembered when that syndicate was featured on the TV show How They Do That . Mr Mandel explained his group had hired some bonded agents and taken over several 711 store terminals for two days to enter their numbers. There are investor that make money by buying and selling dollars daily and taking advantage of the exchange rate, this syndicate was trying to do the same thing with lottery jackpots. Afterward Virginia along with other states changed their rules such that no one can control a

W. Canada Lottery web mistake causes player confusion
All Canadian lottery games have a cash option (in this case, C$17 million.) As Canadians are used to all-cash jackpots, and less familiar with annuity prizes than their US counterparts, I doubt an annuity-only Canadian game would fly. In fact, a Canadian winning an annuity lottery prize offered by a Canadian lottery would have to pay tax(es) on the interest that would be an increasing percentage each year of the cheque that they would get in the mail.

$75 million Powerball lottery jackpot claimed by N.C. prison guard
I have always wondered if jackpot winners continue to seek advice and investment guidance from their current financial professional or if they upgrade/replace their advisory team. Although some of my clients have won big in other areas, none have won any lottery jackpots. Despite that, I still enjoy working with what people term the middle class as it is satisfying to see people become financially independent without even winning something like the lottery or a major lawsuit.

How did you "discover" Lottery Post?
I started in 2001 when I was searching for lottery stories, I had gotten caught up in a state jackpots that had gotten up to about 30 million, and then I ran across some TV talk shows that were showing some of the down sides to winning a lottery. I started researching and some how came up on this site where numbers were being put up and theories were being discussed and improved as well laughed at and bashed by other members....I was captivated by the conversations that were going on....I di

would you play if.....
I think the idea for MM and PB is to have large jackpots. I would still play; however, it would be hard to give up the excitement of a 200+ jackpot.

Match 6 $4,950,000 CASH!
I don't mind the match 6 too much, except for the $2.00 price, low starting jackpot which increases VERY slowly, and the fact that the 2 other lines are QPs. This is rigged so that you rarely ever get the same numbers to get many out of 18. I win a lot of low tier prizes with it, but this does nothing for me except lower the expense of playing for awhile. Also I discuss PA's jackpot games in this forum because they are jackpots, even if they are small ones; and they do not get buried as quickly

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
Here is a LIST of the reasons for the cool down : -There have been so many jackpots over 100 million. When 50 million was noteworthy it was because it was unusual. -There is an inflation effect. If you want to buy a house for cash you need to win about 1 million (advertised annuity) or more! -There are always stories (and TV series) about people who won big but were even more miserable after. -People are tired of buying loads of tickets and then having hardly any matching numbers le
