$260M Powerball lottery jackpot claimed by S.C. retiree
Okay, I've read most of the comments, but know some asked if it was a quick pick and other curious questions...Here's the word from a friend of the family..... Mr. Jackson retired from the church and from education....Because Mr. Jackson believed in education and South Carolina Lottery claims to support education...Mr. Jackson bought a PB ticket for every drawing...Not to support the lottery...Not to win....To support education....Something he believed in....SO.....to the question, Was it a quic

Quick Pick or Not
I have played both the Powerball and Hoosier Lotto since their inceptions, always going with the quick pick. Have never won much, once in a while I get 2-3 #s on hoosier and maybe a powerball from time to time.
Logic tells me it really doesnt matter if I choose my own numbers or the QP but am considering choosing 2 sets of numbers per game and playing those same numbers.
Wondering what others thoughts are on the topic of QP vs choosing ones own numbers.
Thanks!

The New Quantum Selection Algorithm test is available for testing
This is just a test program with no conditions and not optimized.
It should be considered a Quantum Pick, not a Quick Pick.
The Method being used is Infinitely better than a Quick Pick.
The Ultimate Conditional Optimizing Version is yet to come.

Why I think quick picks suck
Another way of looking at it:
For pick 3 games, 72% of possible combos are singles, 27% are doubles, and 1% are triples. Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't play doubles or triples. If I'm going to buy 10 lines I will have 7 singles, 2 or 3 doubles, and maybe I'll throw in one triple. This is just my strategy. Now, when I buy quick picks for the TX pick 3 game, I will get just about 50% singles and 50% doubles. That doesn't fit my playing strategy so I tend to pick my own numbers rather than bu

Jackpot Win at my usual store!!
Funny - not only have I thought about this, but today I almost went to another retailer since there have been so many winners lately at Publix. If you pick your own numbers, it should have absolutely no effect at all, since it only matters if they are drawn. However, what about quick picks? I've seen press releases announcing winners from the same store on different dates, but does this mean it's less likely someone will hit a big jackpot there the next week? Maybe it doesn't make sense, but

North Carolina 6/11 thru 6/23
No (6) in the number tonight either.

I caught it on a quick pick and this is only the 2nd or 3rd time in 12 years that I have won money off of a quick pick in the pick 3 games!!
Congratulations to all the winners!!

Cards For Quick Picks
Justxploring
At about 9:05 I got an uncontrollable I feel lucky urge....
Most of the time I play a quick pick I just ask the clerk to play it, but sometimes I fill out the playslip. When I do that sometimes they look and say, there's nothing on it . Then I tell yhem it's a quick pick and they tell me I could have just asked them for a quick pick, so I tell them I'm trying to 'psyche out' the computer.

Bought a quick pick
Today I bought some lotto tickets on my way home from work. I stopped at a Shell and bought a quick pick and then I went to another store and played some of my usual numbers and another QP. Both my quick picks have the same two numbers in a row. Has this ever happend to you? Should I play a round with those numbers?
P.S
31-33 were the #'s

1to2to3to4, Making Money @My Door!
70% of the players use quick picks and 70% of the time, the winning pick is a quick pick ticket.
30% of the players pick their own numbers and 30% of the time, those players win.
got that off of the Powerball website.

Has This Ever Happened To You?
justxploring:
This is really a good thread. I want to reply one more time but this time about quick picks.
I know some guys that talk about the law of big numbers and swear that if you extract large amounts of numers from a personal RNG and do this several times you stand a better chance of winning than you do from buying a quick pick from your friendly lotto dealer.
The odds are approximately 22.5 million to one to win the Florida Lottery on a single pick 6.
You are correct that be
