Church rejects donation from lottery winner
He's welcome to donate to time*treat's church-of-the fire, brimstone and scratch-offs; where the comdemned spend eternity listening to people who are bad at math (attempt to) argue the tax implications of lump sum vs annuity, and each sermon ends with a lovely jaunt through the Book of Revelation ... or USC 26, depending.

Lancaster County man claims $86M Powerball lottery jackpot
ALL tax experts tell you to take the lump sum and invest it and live off of your OWN annuity. I don't think these folks got any legal advice, which the lotto commission advises you to do. Be nice to have brains AND money at the same time?

New MM website
Wow, that does make the Powerball site look even worse, not to mention extremely bush league.... Not that it didn't look that way before, but MM just looks so much better and professional. I like the Bottom Line thing they have near the bottom where you can see details of what a annualized win of certain amounts translates to with the annuity and cash option. Makes me want to win a 350M jackpot even more.

the "EZMONEY" poll
i thought about that too coin toss, the wording seems kind of hasty like real quickly he decides boom he will take the annuity.didn't take him long to figure that out.i might end up eating crow again but my opinion is he didn't win.when we didn't kiss his butt and give him his hall of fame status and fawn over him here a few weeks ago it probably pissed him off so he figured he'd show us all a thing or two before he left again.

I Won A $86Million Annuity
someone said they saw him online the other night and as soon as a poster made a comment about it then EZ vanished, lol.best thing i can think of is he is getting his jollies off after creating these threads and torturing himself knowing he has done shot himself in the foot if its false because he'll have no credibility if he comes back on here without really having won the jackpot.i DO think there could be a possibility of him hitting all five balls and winning a couple hundred thousand again but

What jackpot would you prefer?
Thank you, I was looking at mn lotto website to see if we had that feature and I believe we do not (it's annuity); if you are correct that the game of -win/week for life- is used by scratch-offs, mn highest payment amount is 500,000, so I don't think that game would be here, but thank you for you input.

Ohio winner of $196M lottery jackpot claims prize anonymously
Ohio tax is 6% and that amount will be deducted from each of the 26 payments because that will always be Ohio income no matter where they live. Since the amount of the annuity is higher than the cash value, they will pay more in Ohio taxes on the annuity.
The article mentioned city tax and one city that did have an income tax wanted to collect taxes from a jackpot winner because the ticket was sold in their city even thought the winner didn't live there. The courts ruled the winnings or incom

Ohio winner of $196M lottery jackpot claims prize anonymously
Annuity 43,000,000
26 payments 1,653,846
Fed 25% tax 413,462
sub total 1,240,384
Ohio state tax 113,288
Your net 1,127,096 for now until tax time...lol
Now remember you going to still owe another 10% on the original 1,653,846 to the IRS at the end of the year!
Now if you take what the IRS is going to get each year from your annuity check and multiply that by 26 your going to pay 10,750,012 in taxes on that annuity right off the top.... plus your still on the hook for anothe
