What is up with MM/PB
Jackpots could be smaller because the number of people playing has decreased. I know quite a few people who have just stopped playing because of the odds, and they play scratchers instead. I think they should increase the payout for getting the mega ball, from $2 to $5.

New Mexico joins Hot Lotto 11/12
If tonight's Mega Millions ($16m) is won, HL will climb to second place among US lottery jackpots. This would give MUSL games the two top spots.

Tonight's Mega Millions lottery jackpot worth $75 million
I hear you, but at the same time it's interesting that ticket sales have continued to be strong. Maybe the win streak is prompting people to play at the lower levels too. Jackpots seem to rise by $10 million+ despite the many hits.

New Tenn. congressman wants national lottery
This guy's lost his mind evidentally. I like the idea of it too...could generate some of the largest jackpots in history, but like he said, the state lotteries and Powerball would NEVER go for it.

New Mexico joins Hot Lotto 11/12
New Mexico could not have joined HL at a better time. The jackpot is now $13.5 million; needless to say another record high. Are other states looking to join, and, probably more importantly, is there a matrix change on the horizon to make even bigger HL jackpots possible?

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
One more jackpot winner before 2007, and Mega Millions will tie Powerball's record of fourteen jackpots awarded in one year from either multi-state game. Powerball set that record just last year (2005).

From the Mega Millions website
Not every time. Recently a low number hit in FL and the person cleaned up! Only takes 1 number out of the 6 to make it different from all the rest who get the lower prize for 5 numbers. However, Fantasy 5 jackpots are often split a lot - once 15 winners won about $300K. But then just 1 person will win like tonight.

If you had to play 1000 PB/MM tickets,
I agree with Jarasan! You would have to get up each day between the jackpots and it would be like going to work. Spend your time filling out the playslips. Like you were doing a job only for yourself.-weshar75

Okla. lawmaker aims to stop lottery winners from staying anonymous
The Lottery is more fun when, even when you lose, at least you can see who did win (hopefully someone you know and you've been kind to when they were poor!), and it's interesting to read the story behind the ticket purchase i.e. I just wanted to get a cup of coffee and I played 1 ticket just for the heck of it... and often the escapades of the winner afterward. If you're afraid of winning then don't play for big jackpots.
