Contacting Professionals After You Hit A Multi-Million Dollar Prize!
Sorry Tosser, I thought it was clear enough in the overall context of my post that I was referring mainly to the media hounding of a large jackpot winner. The reason that I referred specifically to $250 million+ was that it would be easier to remain anonymous with, let's say, a $45 million win. Because those are not as much of an intriguing story, I think that the press would have more of a whatever attitude to an anonymous winner. The large jackpots tend to capture the minds and imaginations

Remaining Anonymous for Winners?
Ok, the powerball right now is 365 Million right now and it makes many people dream(well, I even dream when it is at 12 mil)...
Anyway, how would a jackpot winner remain anonymous?
I've heard people can setup a blind trust or something like that. How does that work and what type of fees are associated with that?
Tell me your thoughts.

Is it worth going to an anonymous state?
It seems like lottery winners who go public (Evelyn Marie Adams of NJ, William Bud Post of PA, Billie Bob Harrell of TX, Jack Whittaker of WV, Larry Ross of MI, Juan Rodriguez of NY, etc) seem to have a lot of problems after they win. They are constantly beseiged by the news media and greedy relatives. Family feuds and marriage breakups also create headaches for the new millionaire. Now imagine........ What if ...... Just what if........ the prize was claimed ANONYMOUSLY????? Would you go to

Jackpot Winner Anonymity poll...
I think that people who want to remain anonymous want to do so neither because they think that they are celebrities nor thinking themselves to be much important (but may be there are few who think like that because every one has his understanding). I think that mostly people want to remain anonymous because they somewhat realize the responsibility of having too much money suddenly and how will they manage it. I understand that you can hire planners and attorneys but even then having sudden windf

PowerBall Drawing for 10/09/04
Quote: Originally posted by goldeneye26 on October 10, 2004 Quote: Originally posted by Todd on October 10, 2004 I think it's great that someone won from Delaware. Should be interesting to see if they execise their option to remain anonymous. Of course, they will remain anonymous. In Delaware , they don't even have to set up a trust to claim the prize. The Delaware lottery can automatically grant the winners anonymity if they choose to do so. They'll definitely be anonymous if it was won i

Who are you going to tell after you win the monday's powerball jackpot.
I found where I read about forming an LLC in another state such as Delaware, New Mexico or Wyoming vs. Florida. (I live in Florida and Florida law allows me to form an LLC in any state)
If you live in Florida this info may be of some value to you. Here's a cut and paste of what I found -
Anonymous LLCs
There are good reasons to form an anonymous LLC. This is largely because nothing good can come from posting your assets and personal information online. If you simply form a single LL

Bill to allow lottery winners to remain anonymous passes Virginia Senate
A bill that would allow lottery winners in Virginia to remain anonymous has cleared one hurdle toward becoming a law.
The bill passed in the Senate Friday morning, but still has to be approved by the House of Delegates. It passed with a 33-7 vote.
Sen. Lionell Spruill, Sr. (D-Chesapeake) helped introduced the bill, which would let winners submit a notice to the Virginia Lottery that they do not wish to have their name or personal information disclosed.
The bill would not, however, preve

Remaining anonymous
I still believe making the name , town, and story public boosts lottery sales.
That belief of mine has been challenged by posters who say their state went anonymous and it didn't hurt the sales.
Yes, maybe ... YOUR state ...went anonymous but the fact is the vast majority of states are still making the names/stories public. Thus, I find it hard to believe lottery players in states that you can remain anonymous never hear/read about the vast majority of winners who go public.
I doubt PC

Kansas Mega Millions winner claims jackpot anonymously
fabre98,
Yeah I advocatre remaining anonymous. Just do a search on these forums, anonymous and see what you do and don't find. Try Abraham Shakespeare. He won a jackpot and is no longer with us because of a greed ball .
You assume the person is not sharing at all . You don't know that but it sounds like you wan to be a leech who benfitds from some of the sharing.
And speaking of greed balls , anyone who can't stand someone who wins 1/3 of a record breaking jackpot and stays anonymous is
