Is the Lottery (PB/MM) corrupt?
Is the Powerball or Megamillions corrupt? I do not think so. But can anyone cheat after the numbers are drawn? For example, if the drawing is at 7:59 p.m., can someone who has access to a terminal machine be able to get a ticket with the winning combination a split second after the numbers are known? Or are those terminal machines perfectly synchronized and locked at exactly the same time before the draw so no one can get any tickets after the machines are locked? Is it possible for a

Mechanic unaware he'd won $1.5 million
Wollongong mechanic spent Christmas unaware he'd won $1.5 millionA self-employed motorcycle mechanic from Wollongong spent the Christmas holiday season totally unaware that he was a Powerball millionaire while a fortune sat unclaimed on top of the family microwave.Despite winning $1.5 million in Powerball draw 499 on 8 December 2005, it wasn t until yesterday he found out he was a millionaire. You won t believe this but the ticket was sitting on top of the microwave for a month. I was experienci

N.M. Lottery posts second-best year
Interesting story. As a NM Lottery player who talks with a lot of other NM Lottery players, I think there are some flaws in the analysis of why it's making less money, but it's still an interesting story.NM Roadrunner isn't an inspiring game. Ticket buyers aren't even aware, so far as I can tell, that it's computer drawn. But the reason (I believe) more people don't buy RR tickets is the same reason they do buy scratchers. Which is to say, they like to win the occasional small prizes, while ho

trashed tickets
Quote: Originally posted by bellyache on March 19, 2005I don't understand why more people don't check their tickets themselves. It really isn't that hard and unless you've bought a whole bunch of tickets it really doesn't take that much time out of your life. I mean it could mean the difference between winning tons of money and not being hassled or losing it and having to fight a long battle in court (costing you all the money or half). Doesn't seem worth it. Just check your own damn tickets. lo

Michigan Lottery selling scratch games after top prize gone
This here kind of reminds me of Pull-Tab games. Here in Ky you used to only be able to cash winning tickets in the store were the ticket was purchased. A few years back they changed it so you could cash them at any lottery retailer. I was told it was to make it easier for players to cash in winning tickets. Personally, I think it was done so that no one would know if the big prize was in the machine because it could be cashed anywhere. I've seen it before where a regular player would ask the

Lottery Numbers
whodeaniwrote; I know that people have won playing the same numbers for years and years but I don't think I would use that method. Even for a 6/36 game, there are 1,947,792 combinations which has a drawing every day. Each winning combination should come up once every 5336 years! That could be a long time to wait for your numbers to come in. The wait could be much longer with a game like Powerball or Mega Millions when you are dealing with 53 numbers and there are only 104 drawings per year.I rep

Best scratch game?
Lotto Czar,Some comments for you.By the end of January I stop playing X-mas tickets. The reason? Lots are given as gifts to people who don't play the lottery on a regular bases. They overlook lots of winners and throw them away. A perfect example is my girlfriend. She only plays the lottery when Powerball gets above $100 million, and only then if I remind her. I gave her one of those $20 tickets with a guaranteed prize of $10 at Christmas. She threw it away!As for claiming The Big One. I'd perso

Florida man wins $10 million in lottery scratch-off game
A Hallandale Beach, Florida, man spent $25 on a Florida Lottery scratch-off card and etched his way into a life-changing, $10 million prize. Bryan Goldstein, 36, bought his Florida Cash ticket Friday at Stop 'N Go at 800 Atlantic Shores Blvd. in the city. He claimed his prize as a lump sum $7,355,576 after taxes were deducted Monday in Tallahassee, Lottery spokeswoman Meagan Dougherty said. The odds of winning $10 million on a $25 ticket in this game are 1 in 8.1 million, according to t

How To Determine Winning Scratch-Off Lotto Tickets – Texas
First - HELLO! - I am new here, but I've been watching for a while. Briefly, this is about Scratch-Off Tickets in Texas. G-Tech is the company that makes the Texas tickets. This is about the Scratch Off tickets only. I've joined because I have (through MUCH effort and examination of my winning AND losing tickets) found a reason for all the information on the back of SO's. One day, I thought - what are all these numbers and I noticed subtle similarities with the Jackpot winners. I was really amaz

how did you play to get big winners?
I'm always one of those people who say I bought one and it won $100...less frequent are the $1,000's. But with the one out claim, this is what you're missing. I've always said I go to 2 or 4 stores sometimes, never do I buy tickets at just one store. What I will do and what works the best for me is buy ONE $20 ticket from at least 2 bins, that's it - honest to Betsy. If it wins..yes! If not I'll move on...and that could be to 4 $5's or 10 $2's...that's the way I play and it's always
