PB Drawing for Saturday 12-18-04
Quote: Originally posted by JAG331 on December 18, 2004FYI, the odds of having all 5 drawn numbers within your allotted 10 numbers are 1:11,388. Once you manage that, you've got a 1:252 chance of winning $100,000 on any given line. The regular odds of matching 5of5 in PB is 1:2,939,677. Multiplying 11,388 by 252 equals 2,869,776. Does this mean your odds of matching 5of5 is improved by playing from a pool of 10 numbers instead of 53?RJOh

Well not exactly. You can use the wheel's numbers as pointer numbers and exchange them for an order you prefer. If you have CoverMaster just set it for . . .Pool-10Pick-3Match-2Hits-2Enter a couple of numbers you like that hit often in your game and a high number or two like 689 because wheels tend to cluster lower numbers, lock what you have and build a wheel around it using [Timed Random Search] with [Optimize] checked. You should get a more useful wheel.BobP

If it is a winning strategy, then even winning a small jackpot would be rewarding for most players. While I don't play that many lines, I do like to consider the merits of such strategies in case I would ever join a pool to play for a large jackpot. RJOh

Logycus systems, just public wheels?
Read over the information again. They are claiming 88% as good coverage with 33 numbers as playing 49. They eliminate the numbers from the prior two draws and two dead numbers and hope to have all the winning numbers among their 33 on what should be a 3if6 non-split wheel. Can't say I see anything to get excited about unless I was playing with someone else's money as a pool manager. BobP

Ohio - 12/13/2004
Ohiopick3:Maybe a few of us ought to pool our findings a few times and lay 'em out! Seems an interesting gambit since even though our groupings rotate between individuals, there appears several times to have three of us in or on the ballpark. Any takers?Teufellj...

Payout Structure
I'm taking my first look at the Pick 10 numbers...1821 draws starting 12/13/99. It's such a deceptive game. 80 numbers. They draw 25% of the pool, 20 numbers, and you only have to match 10! What could be easier?? $500,000 payout, comparable odds to CT Classic Lotto which is near $5,000,000 now. Eh, I'll give it a try!

New Game Idea
Quote: Originally posted by johnph77 on December 10, 2004Game as suggested with a $1Mil fixed jackpot has a payout percentage of 35.49%, even with four plays per $. Most jurisdictions are set at 50% or slightly more. How did you come up with that? I went to the Barnager odds calculator to determine all the odds and amounts. It may not be accurate in case, but it's free so I can't complain. I did put in 50% for the overall prize pool, maybe you're thinking of the top prize being 35.5%.

PB Drawing for Wednesday 12-08-04
I'm trying something different... yet again... for Wednesday's PowerBall drawing. I'll be using the following eighteen number selections from the 5/53 pool. I plan to use the same red PowerBall number for all the lines I generate.4-5-11-14-17-19-20-26-27-29-30-37-38-40-41-43-51-52Good luck to all PowerBall players, aye'

Wheel Design - Help Wanted
DreamLotto,You originally stated that that you have a pick-6 wheel that uses 14 numbers in such a way as to cover all 1000 possible fours in just 40 lines. This implied that the wheel has a 4if4 100% and not a 4if5 100% guarantee. Actually there are 1001 4 number combinations from a pool of 14 numbers. The wheel that you posted has a 36.86% 4if4 guarantee. The corrected wheel posted by BobP has a 37.06% 4if4 guarantee. The record for 100% 4if4 guarantee is 80 lines.Cheers,
