Lotteries have different audiences. Scratch tickets. Pick 3/4. Smaller local games and lastly the big jackpots. Pick 3/4 is pretty stable and adding internet sales would be the best way to maximize profits. For scratch tickets you have to be more creative on the prizes. Local games would be the hardest since most states can't really offer great prizes. The game shouldn't approach the big games in terms of odds though. For big games it's all about the jackpot. I also don't understand how a string of low jackpot wins decreases sales of opening jackpots. If anything, it should increase sales at the opening levels, because one would think that one at least had a chance of winning.

I think its great more players are winning at MM. The players winning these small jackpots, are regular lottery players. These are not the players, that only play when it gets to 100mil or more.

I think they don't want to have jackpots end in $99 or $101 million because it's estimated. The draw will likely be exactly $100 million or a little bit higher based on sales.

I would second RJOH's opinion. You can even assign certain limits to the jackpot alerts in case you want to skip the lower jackpots. Personally I still hang out here even when not playing like with the long term slump Mega is having.

dvidva, I think my topic should be called "CA lotto jackpots set a new low." In fact, Mega Millions did set a new roll 4 low of 29 million. The previous low was 32 million.

An addition to Mobile Lottery Post
Just wondering if you could add a list of current jackpots to the mobile site when you get time. I know it takes alot of work to do this considering the recent changes to the website. Just a small basic list would be good enough. Nothing fancy.
