Actually, if Mega Millions got won at the opening level too many times, they'd probably end up like Powerball and allocate less sales to the jackpot than the maximum that their rules allow, because they'd have to fund their prize reserves due to repeatedly paying out more than 50% of draw sales for the "guaranteed" jackpots and the states would be damned if they had to take money out of their own program funds. I hope CA SLP Jackpots continue to roll and hurt MM sales. I remember last time when jackpot was raised, somebody won the jackpot. For example, on January 21st, the jackpot went from 83 to 84 million.

Being able to generate state lottery jackpots that size, one has to wonder why California joined the multi-state game MegaMillions. MegaMillions sales are probably going to be down until its state lottery jackpot is won.

Prob988, MM has rolled, but NY Lotto and CA SLP Jackpots are still higher than MM. I hope NY Lotto jackpot gets hit tonight, but CA SLP Jackpot rolls again to set a new roll record.

Since some slots pay in the high 90s, how about a national slot machine jackpot, since there are statewide jackpots in Nevada. Of course, there would HAVE to be a cash option.

Well, both jackpots rolled, but CA SLP is highest jackpot in world at 82 million after 20 straight rolls without a jackpot winner. I hope MM and PB roll, but not NY Lotto.

For the forseeable future I don't see Canada advertising annuity jackpots. In the case of their few annuity prizes, the interest portion of the periodic payments is taxable.

Mega Millions Challenge 6/20Reply
Koda, welcome to the MM challenge usually started by MADDOG. However, the reason I had to set up both MM and PB challenge because both jackpots won and reset. To add insult to injury, if MM jackpot does win on this draw, I must set up MM challenge again. Good luck to everyone including Koda.

Maybe 100 years from now, it will be too hot to live in the USA. Americans will be moving north of the border by the millions. By then Canada will have annuity jackpots.
