Lottery ticket purchased in central Iowa puts man's dream car within reach
. This indeed is one fortunate man. Though not my first or second choice, that car is awesome. A friend of mine (who sadly later died, unrelated to anything automotive) had one a couple decades ago. My comment below is not directly related to this article, but I want to amend my intention of distribution, that I've held for a while, should I win a significant prize. ( I doubt I'll ever win any big prize.) My updated donation list is as follows: (This list is subject to be updated

Mega Millions/ Powerball Winning States
A little info; Lucky lottery states Perhaps not too surprisingly, most Mega Millions winners from the past five years have hailed from states with larger populations. New York, the fourth-largest state in the U.S., boasts the most Mega Millions winners with seven overall. California, the largest state, claims the second-most winners with six in total, while Illinois also claims four winners. Interestingly, state population size hasn t always translated into Mega Millions success. Tex

A man has been living rough under a road bridge in southwest China for 10 years, saying he will not go home until he has cracked how to win the lottery and written books about it, according to a newspaper report. Wang Chengzhou, 49, lives under a road intersection in Chongqing and spends most of his time researching, the Chengdu Commercial Daily reported. He makes ends meet by doing part-time jobs, such as for the post office, but his obsession is research on the lottery, according to the

Maryland postal worker wins $10 million scratch-off lottery jackpot
I didn't see in the article were it gave his age or how long he's worked at the postal service. Anyways, it depends on whether he is on the civil service retirement system or the federal employees retirement system. There are big differences in each as far as what you can collect. Civil Service Retirement System Employees who began working for the USPS before 1984 are enrolled in the Civil Service Retirement System unless they chose to switch to the Federal Employees Retirement Syste

Disportionate Scratch-Off Winners in Southern Part of State
Thanks for the replies -- I was wrong about one thing -- you can go back on the VA lottery website for press releases about big winners back to 2009 but no earlier. Yes, I will send in a FOIA request to the VA Lottery and see if that goes anywhere. And they do have a page where they briefly explain what a FOIA act request is and is not. In my case, I'm not requesting any personal information on anyone -- I don't care to know the winner's name, just the cities within Virginia where large prize

Older Pennsylvanians lose from lawmakers' raid on lottery fund
I read a article about the baby boomer crisis and was taken back on what many on that site were saying. Things like the baby boomers are dead weight, useless, wish they were dead etc... This is a real crisis but is not limited to just baby boomers. The birth rate fell after the boom but not by that much. The boomers represent the largest increase but the population explosion continued well past that generation. The problem is the result of two things, mismanagement of funds and the m

British Columbia Lottery taking bets on US election
Here's something that bothers me about the Clinton foundation. According to my research the foundation has received something like $3 billion. It's been stated that 10% goes to the cause which would equal $300 million. It's also been said that they help millions of people. Lets see what that breaks down to. If they helped 2 million people then it works out to $150.00 per person. If they helped 3 million people then it works out to $100,00 per person If they helped 4 million p
