I know that this is technically not a lottery question, it's about PCH Sweepstakes bankruptcy .
He bought a house using a mortgage -- moron!
I've got a suspicion he's not the best decision maker out there, but a 30 year mortgage at 2016ish rates may be a very sensible decision, especially if you're borrowing about 500k. Most of the 30k in annual payments would be deductible interest for the first few years. That turns a rate of 3.5% into an actual cost of perhaps 2.6%, and it frees up a bunch of money for investing if you're smart enough to do it. A 30 year mortgage also lets you buy

Hi my name is Howard Drummond. A few months ago I won a jackpot at Jake's tavern on se Milwaukee Ave in Portland Oregon. I won it on the second machine from the door on a game called huff n puff during the bonus it gave me the major jackpot it payed $1500 and printed out a ticket right away. My friend Tim spreager was with me when I won. I didn't have a car so getting down to Wilsonville wasn't easy, so a friend of mine Shelby I owed him some money and told him that I won and showed him the tick

Annuity or Cash Value
just look at what happened with publishers clearing house.
Here's a fun fact. Publisher's Clearing House wasn't running a Ponzi scheme, but they were apparently paying for prizes won in the past with the money they were making when a prize payment was due. There was no prize money set aside in a separate fund, let alone with a 3rd party that was responsible for making the payments independently of PCH. If a state defaults on an annuity it's going to be because there was some major financial

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Whoo-ha-hah, oo, that's a good one.
This dovetails beautifully with a meme we've seen about a political take like that.
The tag line was: Promise Everything, Deliver Nothing, Blame Everyone Else.
We do have to apologize though, about causing someone to go out of their way to find news related scenes where lottery players are held at gun point by lottery agents and officials forcing them to buy Mega Millions tickets.
For that, we're very sorry.
This does, however, reveal a li

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
The comment I made last night was rude and inappropriate, and for that I apologize.
Back to the topic...
Inflation is not the reason for MM to raise their ticket price to $5. Inflation does not affect math. A 1 in 300 million (roughly) chance is always a 1 in 300 million chance regardless of what the CPI is.
Inflation affects the cost of operating the game, which is the cost of thermal ticket paper, the machines to print them, and the twice weekly drawing. That's pennies.

Pair of Pleated Woodpeckers
Hey Teetee - Birds have brought me incredible luck. Years ago, I had stopped to get my numbers and coincidentally my store was right by the river. I had gone in and a drunk guy started harassing me while I stood in line to play. He was really drunk and rude and told me repeatedly that I was not going to win anything, I was a sucker, etc. I did not know him but, well, he was polluted. I said absolutely nothing because I know better. Anyway, he got so out of hand that his friend and the store guy

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Hey G5! Good to see you're also fighting the good fight!
I'm in the raffle because it came out right at a time when I decided to take a break from the lottery. I quit playing scratch-offs awhile back. I had been playing JTP regularly, but the method I'm using for number selection dictated a break until June (don't ask!)
If by felt that you really could you mean 'can I afford it?' then yes. Considering the recent inflationary trends, I am fortunate to be in a position to still have disc

Colorado bill would ban credit card lottery ticket purchases and online sales
Not everyone has someone at their beck and call to get them lottery.
The harm in not playing the lottery is the same as anyone not playing the lottery -- no chance of winning.
People playing lottery online has many benefits even if they're lazy.
1. Less pollution since they don't need to drive
2. Save money on gas that they could use for other expenses
3. Saves time that they could spend doing chores or a second job
You can't presume to know everyone as individual ci
