Can a NYC resident remain anonymous from the public??
Hey everyone! I'm a newbie here but a long time lurker. I've a few questions to ask about public anonymity. As a NYC resident, I have yet to hear of an anonymous NY winner. Every winner's revealed to the public. No matter how much they've won. So I've decided to finally read the rules and regulations on the NY lottery website. I've come across these two factors:
-(a) A winning Mega Millions Ticket is deemed to be owned by the person or entity named on the ticket or, in the case of a ticket no

Setting a trust for anonymity: how does it work?
JRCa...here is what I have observed having followed the California Lottery fairly closely for the past few years.
Last year, July of 2006 to be specific, there was a person who claimed a Super Lotto Plus jackpot of $110 million, but refused to attend a press conference. His name was made public.
Every other California jackpot winner, both Mega Millions and Super Lotto Plus, has to the best of my knowledge been identified. I am not aware of a California Lottery jackpot winner claiming a

I am going to try to change the rules about annonymity...

The internet being the internet using your real name is not always a good idea. Scared has nothing to do with it.
I know females who have been stalked (cyber real life) just by having posted on Christian discussion boards, let alone other types.
By the way, considering your post, is amsoly41 what is on your birth certificate? Is that your ral name?
I don't see a whole lot of 'ridicule' here about remaining anonymous, just difference of opinions.

This is great news, anonymity should be an automatic right for every lottery winner. Unfortunately, question 13 is a disappointment. Eventuality, a state lottery will marry the two concept

Why It Is Important to Remain Anonymous.
When others say "remain anonymous," they don't necessarily mean the money can be claimed without your name ever being released.
In some states, mine(Louisiana) being one of them, the Lottery allows prizes to be claimed not only be individuals but by trusts and corporations. If your state allows this, it could be considered "remaining anonymous." Even though data for who is part of a corporation, LLC, etc. is often public record, it can provide some level of anomymity.
Alot of people don'

NJ Lottery winners can now stay anonymous
Lottery tasked with developing the specifics of how it will work
Lottery winners in New Jersey will have the option to remain anonymous under a new law Gov. Phil Murphy signed Tuesday.
The law directs the state lottery commission to set regulations permitting lottery players to keep their identities secret.
It takes effect immediately, but it's unclear how long it would take for the regulations to be written.
New Jersey is joining a growing list of states to permit lottery winners to

Few major lottery jackpot winners get chance to be anonymous
Note to the Kansas and Maryland winners of last month's $656 million lottery jackpot: Count your anonymous blessings.
The states, where ticket holders claimed their $218.6 million portions in anonymity, are two of only six states that allow lottery winners' names to remain secret.
Officials in states other than Kansas, Maryland, Delaware, Michigan, North Dakota and Ohio make public the names of lottery winners, with rare exceptions. Most see the identities of winners as a matter of public
