Waaaay too much time on some people's hand! Then again I suppose many were hardcore gamblers and has lost thousands of dollars buying lottery tickets and are probably looking for an outlet to vent their frustration. In any event its a sad situation. Hope the changes are made at least for the employees' safety sake.

Randomness is lack of pattern or order, hence algorithm will not cut. When you say 'This does not exclude formulation of short or long term patterns in the random selection', you're inserting an opinion which is a disconnect from the definition. All lottery game has unique premise, i.e. 'Each event/draw is mutually exclusive', understanding this statement may change one's approach.

Out of curiosity I found an old CA draw game ticket and measured. Ticket is 3 1/4 inches wide and the Play Responsibly strip going down the side is 3/8 inches wide. It takes up 11.5% of the ticket, which is surprising to me because it seems like a lot less just eyeballing it. In the event the governor signs the bill, I think the art department of International Game Technology (the company that prints FL's scratch-offs) will figure it out.

I see patterns in lotteries because that is what i want to see in my reality. This does not mean random events in lottery games will align with my observations again either.. I will keel over holding my breath waiting for random to repeat a particular event again in the future from the past.. When do I see patterns before or after they happen.
