The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Calculating the straight odds of a raffle is easy, at least by prize tier. You divide the number of tickets sold by the number of prizes. Like for example, if by the end it sells 900,000 tickets, then the odds for the million are 1:90,000. If it sells 1,400,000 tickets, the odds are 1:140,000. There are additional prizes added at the half mil increments of sales. So if it sells 1,600,000 tickets the odds are 1:106,6666. Your personal odds based on how many tickets you buy are equal

Is there any method or system that can an predict the first digit that will fall in Pick 3
Had this type of the odds are debates many times and usually both sides are saying the same thing but expressing it differently. Some divide the number of outcomes by the number of chances and others divide the number chances by the number of outcomes and get a percentage. In the first example 1000 divided by 2 equals 500 to 1. In the second, 2 divided by 1000 equal .002 which is the inverse of 500 to 1. Most standard calculators have a inverse 1/x button. If we put in 500 and hit the 1/x b

$1.04 BILLION: Massive Powerball jackpot increases again
There is no data that says power play increases your odds of winning. If you happen to win, all it does is double your winnings. But with a game with first-place jackpot odds of 1 line to 292,201,338 million possible combinations and second-place odds of 1 line to 11,688,054 million possible combinations and third-place odds of 1 line to 913,129 thousand possible combinations. Let's look at the last PB payouts, 70 people won the third-place prize of 50k, but only 12 won the power p

Would They Pay It? Can They Pay It?
I just tried the Smart Luck odds calculator again... You're correct, if you don't include the Cashball (use a zero as the number of bonus numbers), then the odds are displayed as 5,461,512 to 1. When I used 1 as the number of bonus numbers (which to calculate the odds to win a second place prize I should not have done because to win a second place prize doesn't require a player to have the Cashball) then the calculator shows 7,282,016 to 1 odds. That matches the back of NY's play slip.

Please correct me if I am wrong...
The odds of winning Mega Millions versus Powerball are roughly the same, with Powerball being a minute bit better odds. This is for the jackpot, as I didn't look closely at the smaller pot odds. When one game has a higher jackpot than the other, especially when it is Powerball, unless having an unlimited budget to buy lottery tickets, does it not make more sense to only buy the tickets in the game with the higher jackpot? Shouldn't potential Return of Investment(ROI) be a factor in your purch

Odds for this setup 1 in 100 Odds of winning a pick-5 of 39 = 1 in 575757. Odds of winning playing 11 lines, 1 in 52,341. Wrong maths mate. 1 in 52,341 is correct only in 1 in 100 cases, the odds of the setup you said. Your maths gives odds of 1/52,341*100, some like 1 in 5,234,100. You sort of cheating yourself. Correctly if you play 11 random combos the odds are 1 in 52,341. Your rng is a little better than the qps if it doesnt repeat the most reacent draws. If you play any 11 sets in

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Yah. My neighbor had mentioned that and I hadn't looked at the advertisements in stores, so I wanted to see the odds. Still better than the $250k odds on Full of 500s. Actually only slightly worse than 50k on the Full of 500s. I'd rather better odds at a grand prize than a higher prize too. It's why I liked Money Bag Multiplier ($2). Has 1 in 482k odds at the top prize. Best on any $2 ticket I've seen. I am purely guessing, but I'd think the top prize on the 100x would be something symboli

New Idaho Jackpot Game - Idaho Cash
Since they give two lines per $1, they claim that the odds to win the jackpot are 1 in 600,000. In reality, the odds of a line winning are 1 in 1.2 million. Getting an extra line does not eliminate a whopping 600,000 combinations. In a state like Idaho with a population of 1.7 million that is 19% Mormon, it could possibly take 1-2 years for someone to win the jackpot. I would boycott the game and ask for a game with better odds. Wisconsin's Badger 5 starts at $10,000 and has odds of 1 to 169,

Pick 3 Doubles System Question
Wait a minute... I just went back and read a little more into this thread. Interesting indeed, but did you just say that odds and probability are the same? I could be in the minority that thinks they are totally different. To me...ODDS state what SHOULD happen, PROBABILITY state what MIGHT happen. That's a huge difference in regard to gambling...isn't it? Odds just seem more statistical to me, which is somewhat irrelevant to a single drawing. I guess what I'm saying is this: Why do I care

friend of mine spent last night $150.00 on Mega + Powerball. Is this too much?
The 1 in 56 odds for matching 1 + 1 are the odds of any individual ticket, but we're taking about multiple tickets. Because the probability is one ticket out of 56 will match 1 + 1, 15 tickets have a less than a 1 in 4 chance (56/15=3.733). Make 15 groups each with 15 lines using all of the 75 numbers and give each group one of the 15 bonus numbers. The cost is $225, but the group matching the bonus number is guaranteed to win a minimum of $20. The probability is four 1 + 1 matches (225/56) w
