Powerball Sets A New Record
That's the same thing some people said when they added California and it was correct. They won't even change the matrix for adding North Carolina so I would have to agree that jackpots may decline.

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
Thanks for answering my question. I think Mega is long overdue for an eighteenth roll. While the new matrix has only been around for nine months Megamillions has been around for almost four years and has yet to roll once it passes the 300 million level. Reminds me of the string of low jackpots Powerball was plagued with a few years ago.

Powerball adding 10x ball to PowerPlay
Yea I used to do that a lot also. But then record jackpots started luring me away from my system. More plays usually equals better paybacks, with the powerball usually being an exception.

Mega Millions Jackpot Winner Still Unknown
It seems to me the really big jackpots are won in either Ohio, or Illinois. I live in NY, I notice at least one a week someone in the state will win second prize. NY state has never had a winner in a big jackpot. Has anyone else notice this trend?

Powerball (moneyball) or Powerplay
I normally do not PowerPlay, but I am on alternate Saturdays this month because of the 10x multiplier. Powerball jackpots aren't won very often, but there are always hundreds of thousands of winners at other prize levels.

lump sum or annual payments
Will depend on the amount. Most likely lump for large jackpots, as I would be getting the interest, not someone else. Plus you usually can get about as much or more interest than the principal annuity will pay, and never touch your principal.

Texas Lottery eliminates Lotto bonus ball
Updated Feb. 28, 2005, 8:02 am Everything old is new again at the Texas Lottery, where commissioners voted Monday to ditch the unpopular Lotto Texas bonus ball and return to the style abandoned three years ago due to sagging sales. Starting in late April, players will choose six numbers between 1 and 54 rather than five numbers between 1 and 44 and one bonus ball from 1 to 44. That will return the odds of winning the jackpot to 1 in 25.8 million, down from 1 in 47.8 million with the bonu

mega millions or powerball
I like PB because of the Powerplay option however when the jackpots get to the $300m range, I like MM because of the Cash Value that supercedes PB hands down. Just think, in 3 rolls of MM, we would have after taxes a cash value in the neighborhood of $300,000,000 take home. So they both have pro's and con's. I'm fortunate enough to live where I can play both.

Winning Powerball Ticket Found Under Bed
This story shows how useful player registration cards are. In some states, like New South Wales in Australia, players have the option of registering if the wish. Players get a plastic card in the mail and give to the lottery agency when they wish to play. Players favorite numbers can also be shored on the cards, which is also very convenient. Registered players who don't claim prizes within 14 days, will get them automatically in the mail. For large prizes and jackpots, the lottery will call you
