Lottery winner loses ticket, awarded unspent portion from couple who found it
Are half of the posters here still in the 3rd grade? If you lost your wallet would you honestly believe that whoever found it was entitled to keep it? If so I'll give you credit for consistency. If not, you obviously don't really believe that finders keepers, losers weepers is actually true. The only difference between losing a wallet and other things is that it's usually a lot easier to find the rightful owner of a wallet. I realize that it apparently comes as a complete surprise to a lot of pe

N.J. Lottery to end live broadcast of midday drawing
I am so peeved that New Jersey is doing this how can they not understand that viewing the live drawings is more important to their credibility than a few measly dollars. Money well spent if it means more people will play. I and many of my friends will refuse to play the lottery if we cant see live drawing on the TV stations broadcast at the specified times. Jersey folks should contact the lottery and complain about this action and try and get it reversed. Here's my beef with Maryland lo

Texas Lottery confirms that Quick Picks are not generated by "central computer"
OK, this is getting a bit far-fetched. At the very least, when someone uses a RNG, they use the computer's built-in system tick clock as the new RNG seed value before each use of the RNG. The article I posted in the other thread stated that state lotteries use a much more dynamic and unpredictable seed value than that, however. Frankly, the concept of the lottery using a RNG seed value to manipulate ticket combinations is not a viable theory, because it would not work. You are giving t

POLL: Time travel
Coin Toss wrote: Let's say time travel is perfected and yuo can go back 50 or 100 years. Hmm ... perhaps the statement should be reworded to say, Let's say YOU perfected time travel, that no one else had the ability, and you can go back 50 or 100 years. Otherwise, everybody'd be going back in time and doing things that might interfere with what you're doing (and vice versa). In any case, I don't think I'd go back in time for any reason. I'd be too scared of mucking up the future. I certainly

Sex Offender Wins$57 Million in Lottery
*Feels like his posts are getting ignored.* At this point I'd still say he's no where near as bad as Daniel Snaycertainly should be open to being sued successfully. But I wouldn'twish him Topous well either. I doubt there's going to be any lawsuit when it comes to the girl (she'd be 21 or 22 now) against Fred Topous from the details in a link to a story in a previous post I made. Though the info I read does seem like quite the predator behavior, how many 35 year old men befriend 13 year

New Florida Lotto playslips a bother to some
The sad thing is all they have to do is go to the website and it plainly tells you what to play and what you will get for your play! DUH! Not everyone spends a lot of time on the internet reading about the lottery or puts winning the jackpot at the top of their to-do list. I don't think you read the article clearly. This was not a NEW game. People are just not interested in spending the extra dollar. I don't see the problem here. What's interesting is on the one hand people will call m

Geographical location and jackports.
I'm not going to search for it, but recently an article in an Orlando newspaper, when reporting a large jackpot win, said something like miraculously, someone won who didn't live in Miami. Typical press release..not that 3 people in Miami won on the same night! TALLAHASSEE-- The Florida Lottery announced today that three players matched all five winning numbers in the Sunday, Feb. 17, FANTASY 5 drawing and will share a $198,646.74 top prize. The lucky winners will each receive $66,215.58.

Easy come, easy go... or maybe not!
I posted this news article about a guy who won a 1.8 million lotto, but the ticket originally was printed in error so he ask for it to be reprinted, which I did not know it could be done. Anyway what would you do in this situation??? Fight it out in court or throw chances to the wind, also has anyone encountered this issue with any ticket, winning or not??? It just seemed odd...... Give or take all
Pac The example in the OP is a wee bit far fetched, nobody is going to come into $200,000,000 and give it all way. They might give a large amount away, but take what's reamining and use it to generate more, but no one is going to give away $200,000,000. This thread is a good place to mention the nouveau riche . It's a French term meaning the new rich, i.e., people that come into a large amoung of money, enough to make them rich, but were not born into it or raised with it. Some of t
