Poll - RNG, auditors and game fraud
come on Floyd In RNG programs a programmer can make whatever numbers he wants to come out on any particular day. he can set the program up in ways no one would have the foggiest idea of what's going on. the program could work in many ways selecting and deselecting numbers that have been bet and drawing whatever number is being bet the least. or drawing a number that would pay out only a small percentage of the take in. let's put this another way say i wanted the number 328 to come out on

N.Y. store clerk busted in Lotto scam
I think I was misunderstood, because you sound very defensive Gamegrl. I was only asking if these terminals were available for those who want to purchase lottery tickets (I thought I've read that there are such machines) or scan them. As far as self-serve anything, they are usually a choice from an ATM to a check-out line to choosing drive-thru or going into the restaurant. If a restaurant offers pickup/drive-thru service, that doesn't mean people who don't own a vehicle or are unable to drive

What is the real meaning of Memorial Day
Historically it's a day to remember the men women who died while serving in the military. But to many it's just the beginning of summer or the end of the school year and a 3 day weekend (not for me) to get away from work. I guess if someone has lost a loved one, Memorial Day can be a special day to pay a visit to his or her grave, whether or not he/she was in the military. When I grew up, it was always May 30. I'm not sure when it was changed to the last Monday in May. Very interesting ar

Food for thought regarding anonymity....
If anonymity were not possible, my #1 rule would be: - Anyone who ASKS for money is automatically disqualified from receving ANYTHING. I would state that as loud as I could at the press conference for the winner. Granted, that might be different for loved ones. But at least you MIGHT detour some hassle from people. I would have plans to help people in need - but one doesn't have far to look to find them. That part is easy. I think my #2 rule would be applicable to relati

N.C. Lottery has false start on logo
What Tom Sheehan need to do is keep the media guys out of their meetings and talk on a need to know basis, especially since that lawsuit is happening. Somebody on his staff is talking too much. Once on my job there was going to be a layout. A group of non-management staff went to the local bar, got drunk and talked about the people who were being laid off. They wasn't even suppose to know about it. We all knew about it the next morning. My point is: That first

For some lottery winners jackpot is a 'nightmare'
Four4me:I hope you will accept this in the spirit in which it's intended, and the following should not be construed as a personal attack. The scenario you've outlined for yourself is doomed to fail from the outset. Let me explain what I mean:You've won an 18 or 20 million dollar jackpot (depending on the state's tax structure), and now you have a cashier's check for 10 million and change. You've already planned to spend $2 million on houses, cars, clothes and insurance for your family, so now you

Are Lotteries Rigged
Well, where should I start? I believe that, for the most part, state-run lotteries are honest games but, like any other industry that generates hundreds of millions of dollars, they're subject to an element of deception, fraud and corruption. I live in Indiana (not on purpose; my wife is from here), and I've played almost every online game they offer at one time or another. I bought an expensive Pick-4 system last year and used it religiously every day for several months, without a single hit.

Powerball drawing produces huge number of big winners, including two who split the jackpot
Here's proof that the drawing is random This drawing is probably proof that plenty of people play patterns, and certain proof that certain numbers coming up results in a number of winners that's only random in that whatever factor caused them to choose their numbers happened to match one of the combinations in the small subset of combinations that match the possible patterns. No 2nd prize winners from Texas? What's up with this? CA, NY, and TX all have slips that don't let you choo
