Wow. 44.6% on the cash prize according to www.usamega.com . I think the only record is how little you will win if you win. At this rate if it hits the cap at 395M it will only be 115M after federal tax. I read on NJ Lottery website, the U.S. Energy Corp. gets 25% of all winning mega millions drawings. U.S. Energy Corp. might be getting a large percentage of PB jackpost. I guess they need the money.

For those players who think winning $100M or more is ridiculous, there are the local lotteries with better odds and smaller jackpots. States use multi-state games with big jackpots to attract more players to all their games because it works. PowerBall has a cap that goes into effect when its jackpot reaches a record amount and then more money is put in the prize pool for the 2nd place winners. I think it only happened once.

lol I guess it is sad that the only way they could justify a higher opening jackpot and rollovers to go with the increased combinations was by inflating the annuity. Unlike Mega Millions, they can't justify it off the strength of their own player base. Also, Mega Millions will roll when it gets past $300 million sometime; it just hasn't happened yet. Mega Millions Sets A New RecordReply
Wow sales are up a lot. Lower gas prices maybe.....people have more disposable income? If you look sales are way higher at the lower levels compared to before. I mean look at the jackpot. We are $15,000,000 higher than the previous record and we are only in the $60 million range. Wow Thoth I also keep a record of cold numbers that need to appear but I never thought of it as 6,563games.
