Mega Millions lottery jackpot increased to $256 million
The May 2000 cash option of The Big Game (forerunner of MM) had a cash option of $180+ million. That is still the record in my books.

Mega Millions Sets A New Record
Sales are really taking off. Maybe the news about the Powerball winners is increasing sales. This could be a record run if it survives a few drawings.
Could easily go 215, 260, 330, 430. Even just two rolls should easily break the previous high mark for Mega.

Payments are not that bad.
Taken from the Powerball FAQ page:

WHY HAS THE CASH JACKPOT GONE DOWN?
Actually, it is the annuity jackpot that has gone UP. Most people assume that we start with the annuity, but we actually start with the cash jackpot. In the Powerball game, thirty cents of every dollar sold goes into the cash jackpot pool. The difference between the cash jackpot and the annuity jackpot depends on how much we can make

Mega Millions Hit
$101M, cash, is a record - for me. Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM - waiting for the doors to open. Already have the limo reservations. Me, myself, I, and my lawyer friend. We can leave Sparta at 7:00 am and be there with plenty of time to spare. 12:00 pm news conference, then, on to the NYC Banking area. 47th Street, here I come. Wednesday is going to be a busy day. How much should you tip a limo driver? Hummm. Have to find out.

Not to do with lottery
Blackie: This may be an act of attrition more than anything else weeding out you old guys in favor of a younger crew. I've seen it happen everywhere. They get rid of the old the sick and disabled by finding fault somewhere in their history folder. Then the use it against or find anything in your recent work to compound their reasoning to find faults and record them. This way when they let you go they have established reason for dismissal. It's all a crock Americans have rights. Might be a good t

$250 Million Powerball
Actually, at any jackpot above 340 million, it will increase only by $25 million per draw, but the jackpot cannot roll by more than $25 million to go over $365 million either. In other words, if the jackpot is $315 million and rolls, and sales can support a $380 million pot, the jackpot will be only $365 million, with the excess cash going to the match 5 bonus pool. However, if the jackpot is at $365 million and rolls again (unlikely), the jackpot can go to $390 million, again with the extra c

a reason to be concerned...computer draws
Trust me, it's true. I got an e-mail from MUSL after finding out that the draw videos had been removed, and they have switched.
Just for the record, everything I say is true. I never present rumors as facts.
