Oregon legislators push bill to ban sale of winning lottery tickets and allow anonymous claims
I totally get the option to mail in the winning checks. Some people do it and some may not be trusting enough.
There have also been cases of mail theft by the postal workers.
Last week a postal worker in Washington was found guilty of stealing 1.6M in checks and such.
I feel the motive to avoid paying debt and child support would be a valid reason to enforce the law.
However, the tax avoidance argument does not make sense for me. Whoever ultimately claims the ticket would have to

Former cashier caught stealing a scratch-off ticket worth $20,000
By Kate Northrop
A Florida woman was convicted for altering lottery tickets and stealing ones she knew were winners, including a ticket worth $20,000.
A Florida Lottery retailer realized that something was amiss when they discovered micro-scratches present on $50 and $10 scratch-off tickets last June, putting an end to one of their employees' schemes.
Christine Nicole Fenton-Gilbert, 39, is no longer employed at th

Iowa Lottery retailer accuses store manager of buying ticket he knew won $100,000
1. I do not understand why anyone would be a member of a social media site like LP if they believe the news stories are fake.
2. Most lottery retailers have a policy of not allowing employees to purchase tickets on work time. It is a reasonable anti theft prevention policy. The various state lotteries do not allow their employees to play the lottery at all.
3. The employee was denied unemployment benefits indicating that the termination was determined to be for cause.
4. He lied and

Their celebration didn't last very long
By Kate Northrop
Two friends from the United Kingdom had a short-lived celebration after winning 4 million (US$ 5.3 million) in the lottery using a debit card they stole.
Mark Goodram, 38, and Jon Watson, 34, both from Bolton, went wild on a four-day spending spree after discovering they won a 4 million lottery prize from a scratch-off ticket bought with a stolen debit card in 2019.
While they partied and drank for four days straight and

How high will PB go?
Ok... Let's put this improperly associated word to rest...Everyone knows how I am fond of simple analogies....
Let's say an employee that operates a cash register, has counted their drawer receipts... takes a lunch break with their boss, comes back and discovers funds missing from their drawer( obviously via Math)
So?.. Does that make that employee a Theft Conspiritor ?. for saying that funds are missing... whether it's $10. missing or say it's a bank , and $10,000 is missing ... or 6..8%

Retailers preparing for launch of Mississippi Lottery
Yes, oh yes. I would rather go eastward 60 to 90 minutes one way driving time out of my area to buy Mississippi lottery tickets.
The Louisiana draw style games are RNG, and there is a blatant problem with employee theft of winning tickets in my area.
I had $40.00 in winning $5.00 scratchers, and the cashier tried to keep one, and scanned $30.00 He was showing my that I had $30.00 in winnings as the terminal printed receipt showed, not mentioning that he put one aside for himself. I'm not s

Longtime Mass Lottery employee fired for allegedly cashing unsold winning scratch tickets
A longtime sales supervisor for the Massachusetts State Lottery was fired Tuesday after he was seen cashing winning instant tickets, a state official said, sparking fear that the lottery's supposedly strict security protocols may have been violated.
David Cannistraro, a $100,000-a-year employee who had worked for the lottery since 2002, was first placed on paid administrative leave in June after another lottery employee saw him cashing tickets at a store on Cape Cod, said Chandra Allard, chie
