Missouri couple wins $8.1 million Lotto jackpot
Wonderful option. Be decisiveness! Don't piddle-putz throughout your life. Requires a thinking person; not a mind-dead robot! Cash or Annuity. Think for a change! Without needing 30 or 90 days to arrive at a decision!

lump sum or annual payments
Except in very rare cases, I would take the cash. The only times I would take the annuity is if I won Hoosier Lotto (the cash option is a total rip-off) and on the new Win For Life game (again, the cash option is a rip-off).

lump sum or annual payments
Will depend on the amount. Most likely lump for large jackpots, as I would be getting the interest, not someone else. Plus you usually can get about as much or more interest than the principal annuity will pay, and never touch your principal.

Would you still play after winning?
Next MUSL will go to 40 annual payments with a balloon at the end, like the $1 billion Pepsi games. Nobody will want THAT kind of annuity!

Would you still play after winning?
And everyone else chose lump sum! The 2 PB losers are why MUSL changed the matrixes (and the annuity) last year, so that NO ONE would choose annual payments.

Who jumps border to buy Lotto tickets?
TX (and where I live, NY) still has that stupid rule requiring players to choose cash or annuity when they play. More NYers and Texans would collect in lump sum if players could choose after winning.

Questions on CA SLP
CA no longer requires the cash/annuity choice when you play. I still chose cash in October in Santa Paula (Ventura Co) just to be safe.

If you could win any lotto game.
MUSL is run by idiots. I would hope not. Odds are they would have a cap and a terrible annuity just like Powerball. I'd be happy winning the WA state lottery now that it's approaching 11 million. You take what you can get. I'd like to win much more but 11 would be very nice.

"Win for Life" giving free tickets
I've never liked lottery annuities, and i don't like this one, but the lump sum option here is atrocious. Take the annuity and sell it to a company that buys annuities, the value is around $1.7m if you're young. And if you're not young or inpoor health, it's a really bad idea to play for life style lottery games.

Lose for Life-cash option?
Cash option or annuity, it doesn't matter to me. If I am fortunate enough to win I will take the money each week and be happy. Beggars cannot be choosers. If you are actually playing win-for-life each week in Georgia, then I would say that you have a reasonable objection to it. Otherwise, try and find another way to spend your time rather than worrying baout Georgia's pay structure. At least Lotto South is dead, buried, and rotting.
