Again...I know why I bother with PB
Wednesday night's (2/22/06) drawing was the first PB drawing I've been out of since the matrix went to 5/55 + 1/42. Since my prize winnings have been zilch since November, I'm now only playing Powerball on Saturdays until the annuity jackpot gets over $100 million again, although beginning with next Saturday March 4, I'm going to PowerPlay on alternate Saturdays in March thanks to the 10X slot promotion.

Record Powerball lottery jackpot claimed by 8 meat plant workers
Every one wearing a lamp shade. That would be soooo neat to see. I would take the day off to watch it live. Little battery hooked up to a flashlight, and when they announced each persons name, they could light the lamp! Then one, big chorus at the end, We were dumb enough to believe the annuity amount, but we are bright enough to choose cash!

One ticket, one signature. The ticket was designed that way for a reason! Can't have both cash and annuity. How you divide the decision is your business, not the lottery. Now, the TAx Collector, he has a large interest in how it is divided.

My advise to the winners is BUY AN ANNUITY. Some of these guys are young and buying an annuit will ensure that the money lasts, it will also give them an excuse to tell friends who want to mooch off them... Sorry but I only get a couple hundred grand a year and I need that to pay my bills. Good Luck Guys (and Girl).

5m bump in Mega Millions?
I think they should do a 40 year backload annuity with a baloon payment at the end. See how many morons can't tell the difference. I'm not holding my breath on this one breaking 300 million. I have a feeling the time to buy would be now or the next two drawings tops. It seems cursed not to generate high prizes. Euromillions only needs 12 rolls to get to the record. It's prize is all cash.

Payments are not that bad.
Powerball's annuity payments are better than Mega Millions'. At least Powerball's are paid in increasing payments as an adjustment for inflation, like CA Super Lotto Plus' are.

GA-KY-VA Lose for Life
If GA refuses to offer a cash option (KY and VA reportedly are) then could Massachusetts stop allowing Mega Millions winners to collect in lump sum? (MA Megabucks is annuity-only).

t GA-KY-VA Lose for Life
GA won't even offer a cash option. How can a multi-state game have a cash option in two states and be annuity-only in the third?

Record Powerball lottery won by one Nebraskan
Powerball based on sales could of had a $405 million annuity jackpot this time around with out the cap. So I think that Powerball will have no problem making the $390 million record mark the next time it rolls past $300 million to the next record. I hope that this run happens in 06 in the next 6 months.-weshar75

Powerball lottery jackpot hits record $365 million
Only NY and Texas require the cash/annuity choice to be made when you play on its games. California required the choice to be made when playing Super Lotto Plus until last year.
