Changing dealers, or crews on a dice table, or putting new dice in is thought to be the same as an opposing basketball coach calling a time out to break the other team's momentum.
Maybe some little podunk joint in a corn field in Iowa would risk its license to beat a flea (low level player) out of their minumum bet, but no joint in Vegas is going to risk a license to beat a pllayer.
A lot of the stuff written about this is by players who have to blame their losses on somet

What Does It Take To Win (Mathematically Speaking?)
It appears the excerpt in my opening post was not the best choice as it quickly prompted 5 people here to fixate on one reference and launch their typical attacks on me consisting of inane remarks which accomplish no more than distract anyone who might have a sincere interest in the psychological aspects of probability as it relates to lotteries. If you click on the link below and actually READ the research article, you will find that the negative remarks made above are, in fact, trivial, and i

Statistics around the balance of even/odd and small/big numbers
RL-RANDOMLOGIC,
It's not really clear to me what we should notice in this small set of results. If you are seeing some pattern related to the number of ODD or EVEN numbers, or the number of unique digits, or something to do with prime numbers, it's of no relevance, other than the fact that more people (like you) might bet on certain patterns, so that when they DO HIT, there are more winners! No matter what you are trying to show, this would not be nearly enough data to draw any conclusions an

Three state lotteries set to begin new multi-state game
Decades of Dollars to replace Win For Life game
By Todd Northrop
UPDATED: Since the original news story was written, it has come to our attention that Arkansas will not be participating in the new lottery game, due to legislative hurdles, and the Win For Life game will continue to be played in Virginia. The title of the story has been changed to reflect three state lotteries, rather than the four state lotteries originally referenced, and the body of the article has been updated with the a

yes it was a devine blessing.
yes i am pumped this guy gives credit were credit is due (for him), and that it rightfully appears that he will be a great steward of such a gift. i really like that part of the story...
what does concern me, is what pastor bronner stated in the article that ....... Bronner, who also is a pastor at the Ark of Salvation in Grant Park, explained that it was a service where participants were told to expect unusual supernatural increase.

Fooled by Randomness
truecritic,
The choices are, choose it by some random method. Are all random methods going to come up with 12 plus/minus 3.3? I mean like a quick pick, different computerized randoms, random numbers from this website? In what time frame? 1 month, 1 year, 11 years (like your PA data)?
I've been working with 33+ years of the PA Daily (Evening) [000-999].
With this data, the hit rate for arbitrary patterns (like yesterday's winner) has been close to the 12 plus/minus a 3.3 std dev, which

Priorities after winning the jackpot
All I have to say is... Be smart, not paranoid. The only people that are going to come after you are the people who you let come after you.
Family and friends are the worst , not strangers. You will get more grief from family and friends than a stranger...believe me.
I would wait 2 weeks so they would have all my money ready.
1. Make copies of the ticket and secure it...don't tell anyone at this point.
2. I would prepare myself to move...because I am not staying in VA. I don't own an
