Why so much greed?
I agree with Bellyache, IK didn't have to go negative. Ask your question, state your opinion, but the tone of the post reflects to me a person who has made a judgement about a segment of people. If people can travel and stand the excitement of the worlds fastest roller coasters, more power to them. If others are in the amusement park for other reasons, more power to them. But there is something for everyone with in the park to gain a measure of amusement. I myself like large jackpots, I like

$340,000,000 winner in OREGON
I'm not a PB player because CA doesn't have PB. However, congratulations to Steve West in Oregon taking home the jackpot after just buying PB for the first time. I hope he takes cash option and isn't the jerk as Whittaker was. It was a great PB run. Everyone, the reason I'm forced to put up my fantasy numbers in the PB challenge in the last draw because the PB jackpot exceeded the previous record of 315 million. Otherwise, my chances of putting up my numbers were slim. I'm required to put up my

If there was no cap.....
If there was no cap the cash option would have been 164.4 million plus 32 million that was given to the bonus for matching five numbers. That means the cash option would have been 196.4 million. Translate that to an annuity figure for Powerball and they jackpot would have been greater than $400,000,000. That would have been some type or record. The first $400 million jackpot. But to bad they decided to go it a different way.Brad

Powerball lottery madness spreads to big media
Powerball for Dec 25, 2002 when Jack Whittaker won:Instead of taking the $314.9 million jackpot as an annuity, Whittaker opted for a single payment of $170 million. After taxes, he got $113.9 million. Powerball Jackpot for Wed, Oct 19, 2005:$340,000,000 annuity$164,400,000 cash It seems to me that Jack's was the bigger jackpot by $6 million. This is not a record jackpot

Powerball Lottery Jackpot Grows to New Record of $340 Million
I'm constantly amazed at the quibbling on these posts over how the players are getting bamboozled by the lottery executives or the hand wringing over whether it's better to take the annuity versus cash and how the lottery is rigging everything against the players. Or whether it's a new record depending upon how the calculation is done.Would any of you even care if you had to deal with the problem of worrying about this if you actually won the jackpot? Not me. I'd love the problem of figuring ou

MN - "Vtrac Jack" Pix for 10/15 to 10/21
Greetings! After doing some analysis, Vtrac Jack says the following BOXED vtracs have great potential for showing up between Oct. 15th through Oct. 21st in Minnesota:545 (Possible straight of 554) 134 421 155 442 135 342 122 325I am posting an abbreviated list this week because I keep getting too many complaints saying I post too many vtracs to play. To make it more of a challenge, and to appease the gods so to say, I am posting a smaller list this week. With the track record of Vtrac Jac

will powerball set a new record........
I bet Powerball is hoping the final tally will stay below Jack Whitaker's $314.9 million mark on Saturday, so if it rolls, the jackpot on Wednesday could be $400 million and the cap would go into effect for next Saturday's drawing, if it made it that far.The $300 million advertisement might be just enough to end up with $315m+ at draw time?! If the annuitized value for tomorrow hits $315 million, that's it, a new jackpot record, the cap goes into effect, and the next pot would be $340 million.

will powerball set a new record........
I think it will break a record, the additional two balls has really done what lottery officials had expected, 'boost sales and create more hype.' Also as in Jack's case, and any other's case, money is merely a 'tool to prosperity and happiness' - not a prerequisite necessary. If you had problems managing money before winning the lottery, chances are you will still have them afterwards. Even if you do hire a team of professionals, you need to be educated as well, and be able to keep an eye on the
