Powerball Sets A New Record
I don't think lottoreport updates the annuity value as announced by the lottery before the drawing. It is possible to calculate the cash value from their very accurate sales figures however.

Your numbers didn't come through, althought the 3.,5% did. I remember several threads about Ohio winners where they wound up in court because the city added taxes to their annuity winnings, and the county jumped on board. NJ has that one thing in its favor, no tax on NJ winnings. They get you big time if you win one of the PA or NY lotto's and stay in NJ, but you're safe winning inside the state.

After tax cash value usually comes out to about 1/3 the advertised annuity jackpot, or about 2/3 of the cash option. 50K/year would have been pre-tax. Lump sum of 1/2 of 1 million is 500K so the 357K is slightly more than 1/3 of 1 Mill, 2/3 of 500K.

The All States debate is kind of like the Cash vs. Annuity debate: it will never be settled, because both sides have good points. However, that's what makes it a good feature: it can be used by those who love it, and it can be turned off by those who don't.Because the feature can be ignored by people who don't like it, I personally don't understand when people have animosity against the feature. Maybe someone can explain it to me in rational terms, because I just don't get it.

That's the problem with taking an annuity, you pay taxes on the money when you get it at the tax rate that exist when you receive it, not when you won it, kinda like a IRA with a deferred tax obligation.
