Where did you get your figures from? I would assume their sales revenue went quite a bit north (even though tickets are 2.00 compared to 1.00 previously) simply because the jackpots are higher and there is more momentum when the jackpot rolls over.

The best way to play big jackpots like the record $40 million is to get as many people in a lottery pool to maximize the chances while not spending too much money yourself. Is any Canadian here interested in merging our lottery pools, or helping organize a big online pool?For example, while it would be silly to spend $168 on tickets yourself, a pool can buy one or more of the $168 9-number combinations/wheels.

I've passed through this site on and off since Jack Whittaker. I finally decided to register today because of a disturbing attitude from some members here. I don't understand how adding the Match 5 pool to the ultimate jackpot winner does the lottery any good. One or two people here are positively foaming off at the mouth at the supposed 'rip off' of not allowing a new record to be hit ('it could roll to half a billion dollars!'), versus making more people winners of bigger cash amounts. Having more money already means one can buy more tickets. Having more money also means being less likely to want to win anything less than hundreds of millions. Big jackpots like that one are more likely won by the already rich because they otherwise wouldn't play.
