You are comparing apples with oranges. There is a big difference with Powerball. and then, you are only looking at the powerball. To miss on the powerball is expected. The software eliminates many of the powerballs from the mix and feeds out the remainder in a weighted manner. If it predicts wrong in the elimination, which it does almost as often as not, you won't catch a powerball in any combo.. no matter how many you pick! I haven't paid attention to pick 3 in Texas since it went 4 draws a day. Still it's not like the jackpot games where you're trying to predict an earthquake, flood, blizzard, and hurricane all hitting in the same place at the same time.
