Texas House passes $337 billion budget that defunds Texas Lottery
I think that the factor that players are in the games as equals, is no longer sustainable as a higher theme or anthem as a result of the recent controversies surrounding the Texas lottery, Currier services and professional gambling establishments and the profits made by the lottery is now inferior to the greater more honorable act of honest services to the people by the lottery. The lottery after all is a product of legislation designed to benefit the people with complete undiminished fairne

West Virginia to add daily draw games to online ticket sales offerings
Interesting that three state lotteries have very different opinions on Online sales. The Tennessee Lottery now offers Online PB sales to compete with growing competition from sports betting , the WVA Lottery is offering sales of more of their drawn games, and the Indiana Legislators believe implications of the bill on the state's gambling industry as a whole were too complex and worrying that the proposed legislation would cannibalize brick-and-mortar operations . Georgia, Kentucky and a fe

Virginia Lottery retailers refuse to sell tickets to draw attention to skill games amendment
Let's be crystal clear about what's happening here. The government is protecting a revenue source (the lottery). The whole thing about schools and churches is a way to achieve that goal. Any government lottery official reading this would not be happy with me, but although I am a big supporter of the lottery, I am not a shill for the lottery. First they tried banning skill games. That did not work, so they are now trying to limit where they can be played to the point of banning them for a

New law allows online sale of Virginia lottery tickets
Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam has signed a bill into law that permits the online sale of state lottery tickets, which the fiscal estimate suggests could generate $12 million in annual state revenue. A person will be permitted to purchase the tickets through a computer, a smartphone or other electronic devices when the Virginia Lottery gets the new method of sales up and running. The $12 million estimate, however, assumes the new sales will not affect sales in traditional lottery locations. T

Lottery legislation: Inside Alabama's lottery debate
A drive across the Mississippi state line is becoming a common trip for Alabamians who want to play the state's new lottery. At least twice a week, Aretha told us as she bought a ticket. At least once a week, Joseph said from the convenient store right across the state line. I would rather spend it where we live so we can pay for everything over there, said Brenda Gerganus as she bought a handful of tickets . Gurganus said she'd rather her lottery money go to Alabama's schools.

NJ lottery winners might soon be able to stay anonymous
Big jackpot winners and lucky scratch-off ticket holders in New Jersey are one step closer to keeping their winnings a secret Big jackpot winners probably applies to winnings in the millions or at least over $25,000. It won't change a thing for winners under $600. Under the bill, while the winner's identity would be kept secret, the state could still be aware of their identity for reasons including child support collections, delinquent student loan payments, and other debts to state agen

Wisconsin Republicans to hold hearing on lottery privacy bill
Who are the they that keeping saying it's about transparency and public trust? And they could say that about any public local, state or Federal agency. Most people that care want transparency in government agencies. FYI, there is no United States lottery, but are currently 44 individual state lotteries with two more (Alabama and Mississippi) starting in the near future. Each state legislation creates rules that govern their state lottery and have no effect on any other state lottery. Sever

Massachusetts legislators looking into fairness of lottery fund distribution
Massachusetts residents have been playing the lottery for nearly 50 years, enjoying both the risk and the benefits their towns and cities see. But some legislators are worried certain communities are getting more out of the game than others. Every year, about 20% of the revenue the state lottery rakes in is distributed to the 351 towns and cities, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery's website. In 2018, the lottery returned $997 million to the state, which was the second-highest total

'It was a horrible, horrible crime that I committed,' Jamaican lottery scammer repents
Charles Bennett had already lost his home and moved into a trailer to pay the scammers who had taken over his life. Soon he was hiding there in the dark, told in a late-night phone call that he was about to be arrested over unpaid bills. The 85-year-old Massachusetts man would be stopped from selling the trailer by a social services investigation, but he lost all control over his finances. Even then, he starved himself so he could hand over his food allowance to the scammers. He remained conv
